  • Can this integrate with HA?

    • +1

hopefully.. xiaomi fans have custom integration - https://github.com/syssi/xiaomi_fan

    • Don't see mention of this model specifically but may work as one of the others, even if partially. (When I first got the Smartmi Fan 3 I could only use basic on/off control set up as a different model until the dev added full support)

As you can see there's quite a few pending new device requests though so could be a while.

  • thanks, $30 not worth it for the extra smart home kit.

    • its good smart home kit tho

      • Long run you'll want other zigbee devices too and you'll dump the hub, at least that's what happened at my installation. If you need all the sensors they include it's still good value (and you could flog the hub on ebay), but not everyone does.

        • I have the old hub it works perfectly in Home Assistant.

Tho given that i have now move to a zigbee cornbee

          • @asa79: The hub works fine with xiaomi sensors & HA, but you can't use it for any other zigbee devices. As soon as you start mix & match you need a zigbee stick.

            • @team teri: to be honest I prefer to have separate hubs for xiaomi and hue, that way i dont run into the device limits too quickly, and they support their own updates

  • Can you set this on a timer with the app?

    • +1

from experience, i have two of the xiaomi products on Mihome, and both have timers, or specific schedules to set.

  • Thank u. Always wanted to try those dc xiaomi fans. Bought 2 for less than $120.

    • Is this dc? assume it is ac fan with the added smarts

      • +2

Says DC motor on the page.

  • Just confirming this is corded? Prefer one without

    • +11

      This is 5G wireless.

      • +3

Also reads your thoughts and forwards to the government for free!

      • If they can integrate fan that will be perfect

  • +2

I got the Smartmi DC Conversion Pedestal Fan 2S. Any one has experience with this Voimi vs Smartmi Fan 2S?

I assume this Voimi doesn't have battery (corded) like the Smartmi 2S (cordless).

Seems like a nice fan, but no dedicated remote control makes this a dealbreaker for me. I don't want to be reaching for my phone and opening an app just to change the speed or turn it on or off in the middle of the night…

    • +4

Idk, for me having a separate remote for every device would be pretty irritating lol

      • I prefer less remotes too, but turning a bright phone screen on and finding an app in the middle of the night is also irritating.

        • I guess this can be voice controlled.

    • +7

There is a dedicated remote and buttons on the fan. The third option is app control.

      • I can't see a dedicated remote in the ad?

        • +3

          I asked Xiaomi.

          • +1

@Clear: Okay thanks, but I wish they would put it in the ad. Seems like the deal is now over anyway?

  • is this fan actually any better than a kmart 20$ one other than the wifi integration to an app? As far as speeds, sounds and such?

    • +5

It's a DC fan for starters. More efficient and quieter.

    • +3

Assuming it's similar to the Smartmi fans, on the minimum setting it's practically silent. Not moving much air obviously but enough for when I sleep.
At full speed still makes a bit of noise, and don't think they move quite as much air at full speed as your $20 job but close.

I do like the variable swing settings, 30 degrees is often more useful than a wide swing (the smartmi also only does 120 max, not 180 like this one)

Also, and again not sure if same with this fan, but the Smartmi despite saying it has 100 speed levels, I found most levels didn't actually change and it was really only 10 or something (I did actually go through and find all the steps when I had too much time on my hands, in a comment somewhere on here.) Not really a big deal as who really needs 100 speed levels but why market it that way.

      • good to know, thanks for the info!

  • Got one, thanks OP!

    • One or two people actually report a good user experience due to rude blowing, so the marketing is a teensy bit disingenuous. The fan noise is sometimes a plus, when sleeping, for example

        Rule 34.

    • LOL

  • +1

    Is it google home compatible?

  • +8

price got increased !!! to $99

  • Yeah they jacked the price lol

  • -7

    Price went up. Dogs

    • +3

They had a set amount of stock available for the promotion.

  • Oh damn.. price went up.
Anyways… does anyone know if this model oscilates and if it is an Australian power plug?

    • it seems like in the specs it oscilates and xiaomi always sends an australian adaptor

    • 30/60/90/180 degrees selectable and should be a standard 2 pin plug so easy to replace cord if not.

  • Is this Alexa compatible?

  • missed

  • Another option is if you have a fan with an IR remote, use a Broadlink mini and use that to control the fan. Then you can use Alexa to turn it off/on and change speeds by voice or by app.

If anyone is still interested in getting this, I made an offer of $78 and it was automatically accepted. Applied PLSAV22 and paid $60.84.

I should've tried a lower offer, so perhaps try a lower offer and see if it gets accepted.

    • Bingo

    • Thanks, I offered $75, got two for $120 after the code.

    • great idea. thankyou

    • Yep, this still works as of today, offer $78 and it's immediately accepted then apply the 22% discount and get it for $60.84 :-)

  • +3

I tried $75. They counteroffered $78. So, there you have it.
They are essentially still offering the deal to people who ask for it.
If you buy more than one, they may take a little bit more off.

I'm still thrilled with a DC pedestal fan at this price, let alone voice controlled.

  • Does the main stand come with height adjustment? It doesn't look like it from the photos but just checking. Thanks.

    • +1

No it doesn't and I regret the purchase due to this. Not sure if it's a ground for the refund.

  • Thanks OP! Bought one for $60.84 delivered through $78 counter offer and 22% discount code.

  • Has anyone received theirs?

    • Nope im still in waiting too. Says its in sorting centre but last update was 21 sep.

    • Mine is at "Tracking number provided". No other tracking updates. Might be time to ask for a refund. As above, not being height adjustable could be an inconvenience.

      • They saw us talking about it here and got reminded that it was still sitting in their truck out the back. Got one of their cleaners to drive the truck and dropped it off at AusPost.

  • Received today by express post.

  • +1

Received today and this thing is tiny.

  • Has one that has one noticed any rattling like sound coming from the motor when running at low speeds? Almost like one of the bearings hasn't been greased up properly or is a bit loose. It's a bit off-putting hearing it when pretty much everything else seems to be almost silent at those speeds. Ive also noticed that the fan doesn't seem to be 100 balanced(I've made sure it's seated correctly in the slot and locked in place), it has a bit of a wobble when operating, so much so that the whole head of the fan wobbles ever so noticeably when in use.

It might just be normal and just me nit picking since this is the first time I've purchased a fan that isn't a cheapy Kmart one so I've been scrutinizing the build quality and finesse more that I would otherwise!

    • +1

Received mine today. To be honest, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. App and settings work great. Get a bit of the bearing sound. Fan looks wobbly, but I don't think it actually is.

Compared to my Xiaomi fan with battery, this is definitely subpar in terms of build and noise.

Though price is also almost half of the Xiaomi from last year.

  • Not received yet.

  • So has anyone tried this with google or alexa yet? Can you control it with voice commands?
