This does seem like a good deal for the RBG model in particular HOWEVER some of these models are affected by a quality control issue.

I put a question up a week ago and also rang Scorptec but have been unable to get an answer on whether their stock is affected. See my question under Question and Answer here: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/cooling/cpu-coolers-wate…

Until they answer it seems like you may be rolling the dice and hoping to get lucky if you order one of these. If I'm wrong then I would love someone to tell me so I can buy one.

    • Ostensibly (according to that very page on the arctic website), all affected unsold stock on the market has been serviced and I have no reason to believe Scorptec would opt out of it.

      Unless I'm reading it wrong

I was shopping for one of these a couple of months ago. Scorptec and all other retailers except PGGC were out of stock or didn't have them listed at the time, not that I understood why at the time. I ended up purchasing one from PCCG, and subsequently read about the above QA issue which did affect the cooler I was sent. While PGGC accepted the return and provided a refund, this demonstrates there are still some potentially affected units out there.

With that said, Scorptec have only recently listed these and so they may be new non-affected models. While I have already purchased one from Scorptec, I did so with the knowledge that I may be up for another return.

EDIT: Upon last contact with PCCG a few days ago, they have made these coolers out of stock due to the QA issue identified. Better late than never I guess.

PCCG have said - stock coming 23 September for some time. Now I see they say - new stock coming Oct 3.

It gives the appearance to me that there is new / fixed stock, and old / unfixed stock. The fact that Scorptec are not saying anything doesn't help ease these concerns. Personally I just want to be sure before I jump in here as the hassle of returning stuff or ordering fixing kits is something I really want to avoid.

          • @B3: Absolutely I'd like to avoid that too.

The only reason I jumped is because they were only recently re-listed as in-stock with Scorptec.

      • Correct. All affected models have been recalled and replaced and not that many anyway. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

Do you have any information as to when that became true?

It certainly wasn't the case when mine was shipped by PCCG at the start of August.

          • @[Deactivated]: Reporting that "all affected retail units should be serviced now" came out in the last week of August.

            • @meeowth: Ok, keeping my fingers and toes crossed :)

I have just purchased a 360 a-rgb from scorptec, it was delivered on Saturday, I was already disappointed that it is a revision 1 when there are two further revisions out.
I will be opening it when I get home to check for a qc sticker.

          Edit: QC sticker present

    • I forgot to mention this in the original post. Thanks for this

To anyone concerned about the QC issue mentioned, Arctic placed a support page for this so you can enter some details for the cooler you purchased during the period identified for the bad batch. They will then send you the parts directly. Mine is affected and I opened it up to check and see no deterioration yet and have the part on the way directly from arctic.
If you do need the parts and aren't handy with tinkering GamersNexus did a video on it perfect for newbies to follow.

No further QC issues identified as yet and they've been pretty open about this whole thing. I wouldn't be at all concerned about buying the one from this deal if I didn't already have the one I wanted (besides, this bad boy wont fit in my case QQ)

    • Yeah mine happened to come from the batch with the rubber gasket issue. You just go to a website put in the date you purchased it etc and then send you a new gasket replacement. Was pretty straight forward. Also liked that they didn't try to hide it or charge for shipping etc.

  • I just installed one on the top of a Meshify 2 case. the build quality is amazing and I have it cooling a i9-k 11th gen. at 50% speed the fan noise is noticable, so when it idles under 30 degrees celsius I drop the RPMs way down.

  • Can confirm I have QC pass stickers on mine. Bought this from Scorptec a week ago. Runs fine.

    • Great to hear, thanks! RGB or non RGB model?
