World2cover takes ages. Avoid!
Thanks OP, price seems decent with the 10% off.
what do people think about fastcover insurance?
Get the insurance free from credit card. Check the eligibility and exclusions .
Good deal though
Good luck with Tick Insurance as cheaper is not necessarily better; I have had a policy with them and they have form. I also love a bargain but with insurance, there is more to it than the premium savings. The 5 star ratings and glowing reviews of customers are usually based on "we saved this much" rather than the claims experience, surprise, surprise.
I had the misfortune to be insured with Real Insurance for my home and contents (cheap premium) and we were broken into. What an absolute %$#@! nightmare. Never again. I am not saying go for the most expensive but rather look for a balanced offering from a reputable company.
I mean….they've got a world 2 cover
I'm their world <3
Got my claim approved after threatening to call AFCA, their mother-in-law.
I've used Tick Travel for a lot of my overseas trip. I have had to claim the insurance once, due to getting covid right before my trip and the accommodation wouldn't refund. I must say the process wasn't too bad. I got my refund back less the excess. Took a few weeks after sending through the right documents etc.
I had to claim covermore for our last hong kong trip caught in a typhoon missed the flight they managed to refund 90% of the costs. didnt have natural disaster option ticked. Cant use them for upcoming Japan Trip as snow sports cover adds $360 for 3 people for 1 week. Tick is only a extra $120
Does anyone know if Tick covers your cancellation/non-refundable costs in the case that a government changes visa requirements and you can no longer go? I'm planning to go to Japan in December and the current rules stipulate you get a visa on arrival but who knows what will happen as we get closer to the date.
Check their PDS

"Some companies, such as Columbus Direct, Go Insurance, InsureandGo, Tick Travel Insurance and Travel Insuranz, will pay a benefit should you need to cancel your trip due to government restrictions (after a pandemic).
However, your policy must have been purchased before a warning was issued for your destination."
I'm going to the USA. There're no travel bans now. However, if shit does hit the fan, and travel bans are imposed, I'd like to be covered, and I'm guessing it is, even with InsureandGo, since it is before a warning is issued for USA (https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/destinations/americas/unite…).
whenever i attempt to go through the questions it doesn't work… anyone had issues with chrome?
No Cruise cover. Just a heads up for anyone wondering.
They have an option to reduce the excess to $0, of course premiums go up.
My experience with Tick.
Bought a policy when I went to the US in 2023. About three weeks into the trip I got a random rash on my hand. Trip to the Dr. for ointment was about $200AUD all up. Put a claim in which was a fairly arduous process (the amount of paperwork they wanted was frustrating). It was rejected due to the following:
"You cannot purchase this insurance after your international travel outside of Australia has
commenced. If you wish to extend your cover whilst travelling, then you need to email us on
[email protected]
In Summary: Since you purchased your policy on the 7th of August and your international travel
commenced on the 4th of August, unfortunately, you are not eligible to claim with us. As a result,
we are unfortunately unable to pay your claim."
Fair enough that I hadn't purchased the policy until I was in the US (had too much going on pre-departure to get it sorted then, and wasn't worried about being covered for the trip over as I was covered by my CC for delays, lost luggage, etc.). I had however thought that I would be fine barring some sort of 24-hour or so delay on coverage from the time it was purchased, but their policy (which I obviously wasn't 100% across before purchasing) was clear.
It worked out better for me in the end, however. Since they said my policy was never valid in the first place, I asked for a refund of the entire policy which they provided without argument, and which put a lot more money in my pocket than the claim was anyway. 🤷♂️
I am thinking of buying insurance with Tick and the destination I am planning to travel is not on the DoNot Travel list so if purchase the cover and then the DoNotTravel updates the location, will I be still covered? Also does the insurance will refund the airfare in full if I cannot travel? Many thanks
Thanks, just used it. Looks like the 5% cashback from cashrewards doesnt track when using the 10% off.
HACK10 is a new code with 10% off. This code has changed to 5% off.
