Great price for a 1 by !
Highlights are the Deore groupset, 1x gears - great for riding single tracks and general bush/firetrail bashing (lower speed stuff).
Lowlights are the various generic no brand parts resulting in weight penalty, gearing is not so good for commuting/road/footpath riding.

I am not into hardcore MTB, just recreational bike riding, so not looking at spending big money on a MTB. Currently riding an old Giant Upland MTB.
Store in title.
I know bugger all about bikes but am considering getting one - this worth it?
this or Giant/Merida
If your budget can stretch, IMO many other brands > Giant > many many brands > Merida > many many many many many many other brands > Anaconda 'Fluid'.
You can't compare this to successful brands if you care about brands. Fluid (Anaconda's inhouse brand, like an Aldi brand of cheese) has no street cred compared to Giant that is a multinational that has been building bikes for 50 years.
Dont forget you can still consider Polygon as well before stepping down do Anaconda's Fluid
Nothing wrong with Aldi cheese
Don't get me wrong, I love Aldi cheese!
If i was going offroad riding for realz, i would goto a local bike shop and buy what i can afford of a known bike brand. The aftersales service will be worth it, not to mention supporting local biz.
If i was doing occassional riding to the shops / around paved parks, then this is an overkill. I would be looking at a flat bar or 2x (or even a 3x) bike.
Yeah fair enough. It's mainly just to bike ride around the estate etc, nothing too professional
Issue with your usage scenario is - will it do the job - more than likely, and it will do it well, BUT with all those generic parts - they are bound to be lesser quality materials - eg. cheaper steel/AL that will bend more easily, or rust easily.
Value wise - it's worth it.
Why do you need an MTB anyway if you're not going on the trail? The popular Merida 100 is also flat bar and can fit slightly thicker tyres like 35mm to help with gravel riding
mmm, love the fake Kashima coating on those forks
