I did in the forums this morning

Thanks for the JB link! was able to successfully pre-order.

      • With JB, you have to pay full today right?

        • There's afterpay and zippay if you wanna pay later.

  • Any ongoing bonus for trade in from EB?

Do we just pay the deposit and pay the full amount later?

    • No and yes.

I reckon the Fates Special Edition still is the best. Excited for Engage though.

    • +1

      Agreed.

This one is still good though. It comes with the Artbook and steel book case unlike this one which had no steel book and also cost $20 more

should rename that to absolute rort edition charging that much for basically nothing special.

I miss the old style ala Fates or Skyward Sword where you saved a bit of money by picking up the Special Edition

These are cool and all, but I only pick them up now for games I'm 100% certain I'll love.

$80-100 for cloth map, postcards, cheap character stands and an artbook…

I'd like to blame inflation but…

Amazon preorder for the regular game is available now at $69.00. This costs an extra $70.95. I'd do it if it came with a season pass or something.

How is it a deal? Unless it is for scalping?

Also this game is one catriage only. Not even 2 pack bundle or anything.

How does this compare to three houses?
I’m actually new to the franchise but was considering starting with three houses, then I heard about this.
Any tips on where to start?

    • +1

This is all speculative based on screenshots: Three Houses is actually the one title that has deviated from the traditional formula of Fire Emblem games (no weapon triangle, branching storylines) both of which probably won't feature in Engage (ie there will be a weapon triangle, and there will likely be just one story route). The maps in Engage also seem a little smaller, so are perhaps more similar to the GBA titles. If you want to get a feel for it, play a bit of the GBA titles (or possibly Awakening on the 3DS); but you can probably expect Three Houses level of 3D animation and detail since it'll be on the Switch.

        Interesting, thanks.
Maybe I’ll play through three houses anyway as the branching storyline’s sound interesting

Visually, this looks to be one of the most graphically impressive FE's to date (character design choices not withstanding).

I dont think I personally can make much else of a judgement until we see more than 3 minutes of the game, which is a shame because at that point the special edition will be sold out. 😅

  • Now available for preorder from EB Games - https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/nintendo-switch/288040-fi…

Still in stock from the Nintendo store or JB Hifi.
