Dell's having another 48 hour sale, though the best bargain I think is the Dell 30" Monitor. I have one of these and love it, always encouraging all my mates and coworkers to get one if they spend any significant time in front of the computer!

Yep, got this email from Dell yesterday (priority customer). But someone said it's been cheaper before? It's still way out of my price range for a simple (though exquisite) monitor.

    • Ah did a search, was $1099 in Oct last year.. hasn't been lower than this (1189) since however. Though search did reveal they do this price pretty often, so yeah nothing special I guess.

      • I'm sure if I asked Dell nicely, they'd give it to me for under $1,000, but I don't reckon I'll ever pay any more than $600 for this (so never in other words).

        • Wrong. You'd be damn hard pressed to get it under $1100.

        • Wrong. Not reading are you? I get discounts on ALL dell products on top of already given discounts. Got a quote back of $870.

        • That'll be ex-GST

If inc then colour me surprised - I've had a mate doing some purchasing for Rio and they never get discounts as significant as that, even on bulk orders…

        • Useful for everyone else hey? :) Or fancy ordering on behalf of all the OzBers who'd order at $870?

        • @stillwaiting… thackleberry might be right that discount doesn't include gst so I'll have to check. But even it it does, it will still be sub $1000

And hey.. what do I get out of it ;)

  • Won't vote down as like said earlier, it hasn't been lower than this price for quite awhile, but this price certainly isn't hard to get.

  • I got it at this discount last year, still got the %5 Buckscoop cashback (eventually)

  • Normal price. Get your act together dell!

  • $999 would be a deal.

Wow useful insight, cheers! I was hoping someone would put a figure on what they individually would consider a deal!

  • ironically macbook pro has just been released with resolution higher than dell u3011..:(

  • Uh-uh : 300AUD/"24- is rather a deal. Slugged $150 an(") after that is called a luxury tax.
