Similar to the BigW deal a few weeks ago. However, NOT in BIGW this time. That being said, various sellers have this price. RRP is reportedly $599

The Lightball Multifloor, AKA UP16 is the only corded upright that Dyson is still selling in Australia. It has a slightly smaller capacity and slightly less suction than the full size uprights of old - still, if in search of a powerful, corded, cyclone, vac, this one isn't bad.

One last thing, the BigW SKU is marginally different. As I understand it, the BigW SKU does not include the carbon fibre dusting brush.

    • Even better! Thanks for sharing.

  • Are they any good for carpet & timber floor?

    • +1

I don't have this particular model… I have the older upright DC65. It work pretty darn well. One important thing we've noticed though is if on high pile plush carpets, the suction can get so great that it will stick to the carpet and be very difficult to move. There are workarounds but still they're only workarounds. But that is an indication of how strong the damn suction can get.

    • Perfect for carpet.
I don't think it would go very well on timber.

Edit: I also have only had the DC41 and DC65, not this UP16. Looks the same though.

  • corded Miele c3 cat&dog is better

    • Very much doubt it. Miele is bagged, canister, and no power head.

      • from personal experience have had both dyson and miele, corded nothing better than a Miele c3 whereas cordless Dyson wins.
From the research I've done also comes to the same conclusion

    • I was also looking into Miele. I also heard good things.

The main reason we went with the dyson was that we wanted the upright and we wanted it bagless. I have another canister/cylinder vac and the family is showing a preference for the upright. Finally, I also found Miele a tad pricier.

      • yep
I liked bagged due to no dust, but then again I was just looking for the most powerful corded vacuum in Australia at the time. Managed to get mine for $350 a few years ago.

  • Pretty bad reviews on Dyson website

    • yep mixed reviews all over the place

  • Reviews are normally given by those unhappy 90% of the time end of day its a dyson with a warrenty if you dont like it they will refund. I do agree not for use with plush carpets but thats fairly normal for most vacs and agreed this unit should have a less suction switch option but hence the cheap price and it pretty easy to fix that manually.

  • just got a shark nz801 from Myer for $449, very happy with it. sick of battery vacuums that don't have enough power on max to do the whole house.
