Nice deal doweeyy thanks for sharing!

  • Ozbargain's fav cordless vacuum G10 is back at a great price!

    • +1

How's this one rate vs other brands like the Dyson V8?

I got the S5 max from Oz bargain recommendations (backed up by other sites too) and love it.

      • +2

The dyson v8 is much better due to third party support. Parts are easy to source. I will replace my g10 due some code error.

        • ahh damn. I was kinda hoping the g10 would've had huge community support around it so it'd be easy to find forum posts/parts for repairs.

My old Dyson D10 (I think it was) had a recall notice but Dyson didn't have replacement parts for me so told me to not use it and tried to pass me off with a discount on a new one. That said it was probably almost 20 years old at that stage and many parts were still available through third parties.

    • +6

Actually a terrible vacuum. The batteries have a known fault and will stop working after 6-12 months in many cases. Impossible to find a cheap battery too.

Stick to the Dreame’s, they have much better accessories and are higher quality.

  • +2

Would have grabbed the MiBand had I not already owned the Huawei version.

  • what time does this start?

    • +2

      10AM AEST (in 25 mins).

  • +11

Daaaaamn that's a cheap price on the 34" Mi Monitor… I've got one & real happy with it for work/productivity/refreshing OzB…

    • +3

Yeah I got mine for $450 from Kmart back in the day. This is the first time I've seen the deal beat, I'm so happy I got it, although I suspect there's possibly better deals to be had these days?

      • +1

I still whinge about this, my one I got from Gearbite was in chinese and alot darker. Sucks.

      • +3

Yeah there's the Dell one of this which on sales can be found very similar priced to the Mi normally.

But this is definitely a new low for the Mi that the Dell can't reach.

        • these were released 2 years ago so they better give some discounts lol

          • +1

@abctoz: I still yet to know what makes the DELL version greater than the Mi apart from just brand, I think this will be answered shortly.

    • same with me. got for about $400 on last year catch deal, pretty happy with it.

  • Thanks OP! Does anyone know if this mi band has NFC? or how could I check?

    • +1

NFC wouldn't do you any good in Australia with none of the banks supported.

      • Aah thanks for the clarification

      • Oh so like you've gotta have Samsung an apple watch to take advantage of paying using your watch?

I kinda thought that android pay could've worked through them.

        • Mi Bands aren't running anything fancy like Android Wear or watchOS unfortunately. I opted for a Ticwatch with NFC myself.

    • Not functional in AU but how many times are you without phone that has better protection - enter pin to confirm. If your watch is lost/stpolen, not sure if someone can continue tapping for free. Plus, you have choice of different payments & full-screen checking. Don't leave your home without it (smartPhone or iPhone).

      • Same could be said about your wallet. My smartwatch has a pattern lock ;)

        • Yes compared to wallet. Pattern is less secure <phone pin & <password
The best advantage of the watches is quick TIME/sleep/action tracking. Everything else is more advanced on larger phones.

  • Hmm about to get the G10 replacing my aging V6 but it seems the device plaque with battery issue problem. There's couple reddit post mentioning the battery issue start appearing within 6-12 months of purchase.

    • +1

Sounds like a standard dyson issue

      • So it's a bit of luck on whether or not you get a faulty one?

Just think it's still worth thinking about regarding warranty and how easy it is to replace. If it's a $30 fix and requires little/no skill it'd not be too bad.

      • Yea I know dyson had this similar issue but they usually only appear after 1-2 years 🙈 Also Dyson battery much cheaper to replace. I tried search around G10 battery they cost like $100+ and not much store sell it. Additionally the G10 warranty only cover by geabite, I wonder how easy to deal with them? hmm.

    • Have had this issue. It’s annoying and the batteries cost $150 to replace. At that point you’re halfway to a new vacuum.

I’d stick to a Dreame V11 or T20, much better units.

  • +1

Have this monitor and love it. Bargain at 428

    • +1

      Ultrawide is a game changer!

      • Cyberpunk with a 6800xt makes this monitor hum!

  • Does MiBand 6 have SpO2 tracker? It shows in description but somehow I remember it does not and MiBand 7 has. Can someone please clarify?

    • +1

Miband 6 has sp02. Own one and can confirm.

      • Thanks. Does it work well/reasonable?

        • terrible.. every time I do it I get an error message saying 'couldn't measure'

        • Waiting to compare with Amazfit which is cloned from (Band6 has nicer screen & improved annoying %batt ).
Amazfit 5 has descent SpO2 function (need to keep calm & tight enough, avoid iPhone-style User Errors ;). Compared to medical grade it is very close.
I tested Galaxy Note 8 (finger is more accurate due to limitation of wrist measuring, inc. Apple marketing oversell) & it was very close to the Medical grade benchmark. I will test all 3 when I get it.

        • +1

For me it works reasonable, had similar issues to the above user when the band wasnt tight enough or I moved.

In terms of accuracy close to my zaccurate finger sensor which is pretty close in accuracy to my wellvue 02 sleeping ring which is apparantly medical grade and fda approved for sp02.

  • Is the Xiaomi monitor powered by usb-c?

  • How does the G10 compare with the Samsung Jet 60?

  • +1

Was thinking of getting a robo vac just this morning.

    • Haven't done my research yet.
    • Have about 250sqm of living area to clean.
    • Open area and not much in the way.
    • Do a proper vac and mop weekly.
    • No (outside) shoes allowed in the house.

What would be the best recommendation for my situation ??

    TIA

    • +1

You'll need something with a big battery, water tank and dust compartment if you want that all done in one go (assuming you want the mopping done as well) even with the robovac on medium settings for the vac and mop.

      • Looking at the specs it looks like "S5" is the best value.
        - The dust bins look relatively the same.
        - Has a bigger mopping tank
        - Battery is the same (but it doesn't say how long it actually lasts)
        - The only thing is the suction is less than the "Z10 Pro"

Pricing seems to be on the lower end of the ozbargain scale

Any other recommendations that anyone can give ?

I read this https://www.news.com.au/best-of/electronics/best-robot-vacuu… … but only has 1 roborock in its review

          • Battery is the same (but it doesn't say how long it actually lasts)
This is completely dependant on the size of the floor area, the vacuum settings (from DND to supermaxcrazyloud) and mop settings (none to really wet). The higher the settings and larger the floor area, the quicker the battery drain.
        • L10 is another option, cheaper than the S5, similar to the z10 but with bigger tanks and no auto emptying dock

          • +1
            • @CY: That's the one, I ordered it from their eBay store for 544
              https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/373865948561
I checked with their live chat who confirmed those were the only differences, I couldn't justify the extra 230 for the self emptying dock

              • @based: Damn the price increased :’( now $719 with discount

                • @CY: That's a bit steep, it's still 600 through their site so on par with the S5 max price wise

                • @CY: Now gearbite have the L10, 650 minus the 22% puts it down around 507

                  • @based: I couldn’t find it. Nothing on gearboxes eBay store … and the only ones on eBay itself was from a seller “best for apple”

Don’t even know if they are Aussie versions

                    • @CY: Lol I'm an idiot it was an old out of stock listing I was looking at, in that case I'm still happy with what I got

    • Got the S5. Works well except on thick rugs/carpet. Can get stuck on narrow chair legs and sometimes thinks it can roll over a cable but gets stuck.Cat hair also jams the rollers up and can be hard to dig out.

However, after 1 yr I got an "error 1" and its stopped working altogether.

    • Mop function is useless in any products.

  • Mi Band sold out :(

    • Missed out

  • +2

Is this the cheapest 34 inch we can find in the market? Thanks

    • There are cheaper 34 inch ultrawides but this is the cheapest curved ultrawide with high refresh rate.

    • If you're willing to go 32, here's a DELL with 165 Hz and Curved. For a whopping $286.09

Its standard ratio thou, not ultrawide if that matters.

      https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-32-curved-gaming-monito…

      • Looking a usb-c curved monitor of the same size. Do you have any recommendations?

      • 1080p on 32 inch sounds painful

        • At that price, corners had to be cut somewhere.

Not sure what OP wanted exactly, but if the only requirement is size, then there's a lot of missing features they can lose to cut costs.

  • +2

Keen on the scooter - but waiting for VIC to change the rules so I can use one as means of transport.

    • +1

Might be awaiting a while. Life's good in Queensland!

    • +1

Good luck. Been waiting years for this, in the meantime people just ride them anyway. The city is full of people on the rental ones, tearing down the footpath with no helmets.

      • True that, but knowing my luck as soon as i use one i'll be fined.

      • Those ones are legal, and one some footpaths, which to me is insane.

Random people who can’t ride these just flying down pedestrian areas is more sanctioned by the government than someone who owns one and rides it everyday on a bike lane…

  • +4

FYI - the G10 is slightly cheaper @ $264.42 for eBay Plus members ($271.20 for non Plus members) at LuckyMi store

  • +1

    @Gearbite Rep,

Would you ever get the Dreame V9 battery back in stock please?

    https://www.gearbite.com.au/products/replacement-battery-for…

    • No comparison. Different monitors.

    • should be comparing to this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/722443

wouldn't pay more than 300 for the monitor you linked

    • Why settle for 27" when you can get 34". And size does makes a difference especially seven inch! :)

  • +1

Does anyone have thoughts on upgrading from the Xiaomi mi robot vacuum to one of these?
Still happy with it but been looking to upgrade to get the mop function, I understand none are particularly great and still need to mop regularly.
S7 is what I'd been gravitating towards but it's not listed here

    • +1

I'm in a similar position. Still running the original Xiaomi from years ago but would also like a mopping function. Not sure what is best at the moment with also the auto emptying models which sounds convenient.

    • +1

don't have any thoughts as I just started looking this morning and doing some quick research in my lunch break … but I looked at S7 (recommended from other sources) vs "Dream Z10 Pro" … and with the S7 being $1,100 ($860 cheapest I could find on OzB) it didn't seem too complleling.

Then I looked at S5 vs Z10 (https://robot-vacuums.com/compare-roborock-s5-max-vs-dreame-…) which seems like a better buy.

Still doing some more research … knowing murphy's law .. its going to be OOS before I reach a conclusion .. hahaha

      • The Z10 is 900 (including the base) on the dreame site with a code atm, I assume +shipping
S7 (not max or plus or anything) from gearbite ebay looks like it'd be 930
There's also the Viomi down sub $400

There's too many choices now (6? different S7 variants), I liked it better last time when there was basically one option and it was just a case of finding a decent price for it.
Plus half the things to compare are going to be app features which aren't listed in spec sheets and are likely to change with updates

        • Fyi viomi mapping is terrible, even though it's inside the mi home app the same as my roborock. Well, it maps fine. But next run, if it gets manually moved even a tiny bit (say to untangle something you forgot to pick up), it freaks out, deletes your map and any schedules attached to it, and starts a fresh map. Also if you had a closed door during a run, it decides that that is a forever wall and won't traverse it. It ran around my whole house trying to get into an open room by some non existent back entrance, even after driving right past the open double doors. I had to put it on remote control mode and manually drive it over the imaginary barrier. I couldn't just pick it up and put it in the room because it would, as mentioned, freak out and delete the whole map. Roborock mapping is 100x more reliable

    • +3

Got the Dreame Z10 Pro recently. My googling indicated it was probably the best performance:price ratio of the current lot of auto-emptying robovacs.

Decent step up from the Viomi S9 I had prior, which in itself was a big step up from the Mi Robot before it. Overall I'm very pleased so far.

Mopping on these styles of vacs is fairly basic, and something like a Dreame W10 at ~$1500 would be the next step up, with rotating mop pads. With that said, the mopping on the Z10 Pro is actually fairly decent - cleans a lot more than the Viomi did.

      • Thanks I settled on the L10, it's essentially the Z10 without the auto empty, but with bigger dust and water tanks

      • Considering Viomi S9 & Dreame Z10, which one would you recommend? Both are pretty good

  • +1

Thanks OP! Pulled the trigger for monitor.

My prvious exp with same monitor - I ordered the last one in Oct 2020 for 479 via ozb and it died exactly after 20 months. Thanks to Mi official sotre at ebay. The return was hassle free though delayed.
Monitor simply rocks at everything you throw at it including the saucer! LoL

  • +2

If you're buying this monitor for gaming - don't. Horrible smearing & ghosting, higher input lag, gsync/freesync flicker. Grab the Dell S3422DWG refurb for the same price for a much better monitor. If you get a dud refurb their return process is super simple, and usually they'll replace it with a new monitor.

    • Dell one is gone, whats other recommendation?

      • Dell on eBay. They run through them once a month.

    • +2

I just read in the Dell thread that it also has smearing issues. Both monitors seem to have a lot of people vouching for it and I'm torn between which to get (it'll be for gaming mostly). I don't urgently need one so been sitting on this decision for at least the past year, waiting on some good deals!

      • They're both VA panels, so it's not uncommon, some monitors are just worse than others - like the Xiaomi. Between the two, the Dell is better and exhibits less of the issues.

If you're set on spending this much on a monitor, I'd personally buy a smaller, better quality monitor than use the Xiaomi for gaming.

    • I found samsung 34inch monitor for $445 and I will buy samsung one.

  • Does S6 detect carpet to avoid mopping on carpet?

  • is the monitor deal a steal or wait for black Friday / boxing day?

    • Depends on if you need it. There will always be better deals of course but no guarantee when. I think this is lowest ever for this monitor though

      • A mate is looking for a gaming monitor for his new built gaming PC so in market to look for a good one under 450.
