Dang, wasted 7 dollars.
Ozbargain membership revoked
I think this one is targeted towards gamers, the mic seems to be great and also has 7.1 surround sound (virtual)
Momentum 3 is targeted towards music, calls, etc. Its more premium, leather and metal used.
Ya don't say. What gave it away the title?
Thanks for the explanation mate.
I have this, it's a little tight but for a noob like me decent i wish i would have got the 370 though for the battery life… and it's cheaper.
There are some poor (long term) reviews with issues popping up later. 3.7 out of 5 isn't great. It could be that these reviews are taking the full RRP into consideration though.
I've had the 370's for almost 3 years now, and they're great. The battery life is ridiculous, and even with daily work and gaming use, I only charge them every 1.5 to 2 months. They had some niggling issues in the beginning with buggy software, but that seems to be all fixed now (just something to note if you read this in reviews). The only reason I wish I'd gone for the 670s is that they can pair to your phone via Bluetooth, but the battery life is pretty poor compared to the 370's (100h vs 20h). The 370's are also a lot lighter than the 670s, which is a big consideration when you're wearing these things for hours on end. The only other issue I've had is the foam stitching split on the earpads, but this was fair wear and tear after 2 good years of daily use; and I managed to get a spare set from a 3rd party brand (OEM are overpriced).
what's the audio quality like on the 370?
I'm not an audiophile, but I use these for gaming, work meetings and background music. It's great for all of these, and the microphone works very well for work meetings. The EPOS software has an EQ which lets you tweak the audio to your liking, here's my settings if anyone interested to try: https://postimg.cc/30HGDhCh
This or the Steelseries Arctis wireless 7+. Providing I can find a decent deal.
Is this the best bang for buck headset currently? I watched a few YouTube vids and it seems to be three years old.
Copy-pasting my own comment. Had them for 3 months now.
Pros -
- amazing positional audio. Could catch swooping eagles in fc4 before they got me, could track vehicles purely by sound
- nice flat audio response, and can tweak to boost bass etc with the software.
- Comfortable enough for me, the padding on the ears is great, and nice big ear cups. Top padding could be better.
- Good mic quality, and directionality (just been talking to people on discord, my voice came through fine and they didn't hear my dog barking right next to me)
- Decent switching between bluetooth/wireless. I have my phone connected via bluetooth as well as my PC via 2.4ghz, and the headset will prioritise whichever device tries to play audio.
- construction feels solid
Cons -
- range on the 2.4ghz dongle isn't great, especially with walls in the way. It's fine 4-ish metres away with line of sight to the receiver, drops out and crackles a bit once there's a wall in the way. Bluetooth connection is better. Honestly the only time I notice it is if I try to get something from the kitchen and leave something playing on my PC. Even through a single wall the connection is acceptable.
- there's a slight staticky hiss in the background, but it's not noticeable if you're actually playing content.
- battery life isn't great, it's rated at 16hrs via 2.4ghz and that about matches up with my experience
- They're very bulky and gamer aesthetic (but thankfully no RGB). Right side sticks out 70mm from my head, left side (with mic) sticks out 90mm
Bought mine from ebay last time they were posted here for about the same price as this deal. For the price I'm very happy with them, if I had paid RRP of $400-500 I'd be disappointed
I bought these and was initially very happy with the sound quality and booming bass. Then the Bluetooth and wireless connections both started to have intermittent issues. The maximum range was about 5 metres before they would start to skip and buzz. Then it also started happening whilst sitting directly in front of the computer or tv. They are also super heavy and became uncomfortable after about 30 minutes of use. I took them back to get the connection issues looked into and it turns out that its a well documented problem so they were happy to refund in full immediately.
Just my personal opinion but I would advise others to steer clear of them.
@Alistair79 I have the lighter GSP370s, and I find they're a good weight. I wear them during a WFH day, and often forget I'm wearing them after finishing a meeting with them on. I don't feel any real fatigue after gaming for a couple of hours. Battery life is also amazing on these things.
I wonder what's the difference between these and other wireless headphones like Momentum 3.
