Free Hot Meal for Those in Need / Doing It Tough (via Nomination) @ Domino's

1431

I saw TA's post form last year and to my surprise Domino's are still offering the same promo.

Domino's Feed the Knead Program
At Domino’s, we are committed to supporting the local communities in which we operate. That’s why our community-based ‘Feed the Knead’ program is now available in every state and territory across Australia.
This program aims to provide localised support by giving those doing it tough one less thing to worry about – a safe, hot meal.

Domino’s has established a Feed the Knead giving program where people can reach out to their local Domino’s store to arrange for a donation of pizzas to a person or organisation who is in “knead” within the community.
Individuals can complete a nomination form on the Domino’s website to tell us about the “knead” they wish to support by providing relevant details. The individual submitting the nomination form takes responsibility for the disclosure of the potential recipient’s personal information and undertakes not to include any sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) in their nomination. The personal information provided will be used (to the extent required) to contact the nominee and/or recipient to facilitate a pizza donation.
It is at the sole discretion of the franchisees within the Domino’s system as to whether they choose to support a “knead”. If your “knead” is chosen by a franchisee, the franchisee will work with you and your chosen recipient to organise the pizza donation for the recipient. The franchisee will determine, at their sole discretion, all relevant aspects of the pizza donation, including but not limited to, the time and date of the donation, the quantity of pizzas to be provided, which pizzas are provided, whether the pizza order will be pick up or delivery etc. The franchisee is not under an obligation to provide a pizza donation if the nominee and/or recipient are uncooperative or unresponsive.

Please enjoy!

    Good work Domino's

When you submit the form, the store has to approve it (not head office). Some stores likely won’t approve if they’re at risk of losing too much money as head office doesn’t fully subsidise the cost and most stores are owned by franchisees.

Lol my local is so tight and the pizza so sparsely topped that it's not even worth the effort anymore.

Also what happened to cheese pizza, had a client order one the other day and it's not the good large amount of cheese and sauce of old days 😂

      • -1

Pizzas in conveyer belt ovens can't be overloaded with toppings because the oven is set to a particular temperature and belt at a particular speed. If the belt is full of pizzas you can't just shove an uncooked pizza halfway back in to cook longer.

        • I understand that but when u add extra cheese they can cook the pizza with more cheese so it isn't that… Just cost cutting…

        • +5

I used to work at Pizza hut when I was in school, the conveyor ovens have little doors on the side.

You definitely can put a pizza back in half way. In fact, some of those sides, like the open cheesy garlic bread things have to be put in half way.

          • @Dannyism: Domino’s doesn’t have doors on the sides of the oven, and it’s recommended to avoid pushing pizzas back due to the risk of burning the food.

            • @WoodYouLikeSomeCash: Agreed. When a pizza is cooked by one full run on the conveyor, the slow entry is balanced by the slow exit resulting in even cooking. If a pizza has an imbalance in the number of entries or exits on the conveyor, it can result in one side having 30 seconds more cooking, which is noticeable.

    • It is at the sole discretion of the franchisees within the Domino’s system as to whether they choose to support a “knead”.

that's incredibly weak stuff from Dominos HQ

It’s an important reminder to OzBargainers that every dollar saved with a Domino’s coupon is a dollar stolen from the starving minority that desperately needs a feed. Life is, indisputably, a zero-sum game

every dollar saved with a Domino’s coupon is a dollar stolen from the starving minority that desperately needs a feed

          1. as much as I sympathize those who are starving, I don't owe them anything in any way. I didn't cause their pain and suffering.
          2. I use domino coupon because domino allows the usage of coupon
          3. I didn't steal nothing from domino.
          4. domino made profit via spreading the coupon around - they gained exposure, they did a extra business where the customer might eat something else if they didn't see the coupon.
          5. coupon means company decide to earn less per order, to get more business to profit more.
          6. Domino can donate to the poors with whatever the amount they like, so can myself without going thru domino.
          7. Domino did not agree to "if they earn a extra dollar from me, they will spend part of, or the whole dollar to the poor"

Life is, indisputably, a zero-sum game

I feel sorry for you with your negativity.

Life is a miracle from nature, it is a gift given to us. You should remain thankful to the nature (and your parents) because without them, we can't feel and experience our life, and even pass the experience to our next generation.

Even if there's something sucks once a while, it's better than not having a life in the first place.

            @OMGJL:

I didn't cause their pain and suffering

Good to know you’re not part of modern society. I wish I could accept that it’s someone else’s problem so easily… reductive thinking is awesome, though!

            • +1

@tharlow: good to know you think you've made people suffering. What have you done so far to compensate the damage caused by you?

              • @OMGJL: In short — not nearly enough. But I’m a work in progress…

jv playing the long con to get free pizzas after her years of trolling on OzBargain

        • Ahah jv is a female this whole time?

      • +2

        😔

      • All the down votes of you are an awfully charitable interpretation of Dan 🤣🤣
He's got the charity market cornered, turning the Victorian state treasury into a charity case 🤣🤣
Now, if only he'd be more charitable with the Victorian Ombudsman and stop defunding them, and you know, his government charitably respond to the many inquiries into him and his government, 😂😂 maybe the ombudsman need some pizzas?
        I'm here all week 🥁

    • +7

deal isn't for you. shit attitude

      • -6

        it shouldn't be for anyone

        • It’s a private company, they can provide it to anyone they like.

          • -2

@WoodYouLikeSomeCash: fast food actually been shown to have negative effects on mental and physical health

            • +8

              @Hvrd: So has starvation

              • +1

@SpainKing: Plenty of healthier offers for people in tough times, even posted on this website

                • +1

@Hvrd: So your point is people who are going through rough times should be declining free food because it isn't "healthy" enough for them?

If I have little money (to the point of starvation) and see 10 cents on the floor I'm going to pick it up, not walk past because I think I might be able to get a dollar somewhere else. If someone donated me 10 cents, I'm not going to spit in their face and say "that could've been a dollar and then I could've afforded salad, cheapskate."

How generous of them to let their franchisees foot the bill.

  • -1

    Nice work Don

  • Anyone else getting hit with a card surcharge in store now?

    • +1

Haven't purchased in store, but delivery has added a "service charge" on top of the delivery charge now, similar to Uber Eats.

      • +2

Yeah i find this annoying as now you see a coupon that says $30 delivered lets say but there is no way you can get it delivered at the advertised price as they add service fee…

    • It’s dependant on the franchisee. Some stores pass the card surcharge onto the customer, other franchisees absorb the cost of the surcharge.

  • +1

last time they have this so called Doing it tough knead publicity on. our selected domino called us asked about the nomination 'who are you?', 'what do you want?'. then hang up the phone

    Not going to border again

Missed opportunity to use "do the kneadful"

  • +1

If you really wanted to do something charitable you could just spend $5 of your own money to pay for someone’s pizza. You’ve all saved much more than that with all your ozbargain Condom deals over the years, so don’t be tight!

    • I don't know if clever accounting could make it a charitable donation write off, but $50-$80 dollars worth of pizza delivered within an hour instead of filing out paperwork would be more efficient.
There'a so many deals and codes to feed a dozen homeless people at a discount.

  • My local dominos shop owner is stingy as _^&
    Pizza base cut back 40g
    Sauce only put 1/4 scoup…

Likely not to approve any of them …

  • -1

Domino's only made $165 million profit this year and hats off to the marketing guru's who came up with this idea. Feed the poor and needy with a few thousand '$2 pizzas' and lap up all the free PR. Priceless…

    • 165 million shared between how many stores.

      • Profit will be going to their poor stock holders..

    • +2

Damn these companies with good ideas!! How dare they feed us cheap pizza and profit. Instead they should feed is cheap pizza and break even or lose money

  • +4

You know you’re doing it tough when stomaching dominos crosses your mind.

  • +1

You'd need a good feed after eating their pizza.

    • Box is always an option.

  • +1

Lol reading other comments - has anyone actually been successful getting this approved with their local stores?

  • Would of been better if this was coming from Pizza Hut as their Pizza's are far better… Domino's on the other hand I swear they don't cook their terrible pizza's good. One time I almost threw up from a Domino's Pizza. As much as I'd love to nominate someone but I wouldn't want them to eat this terrible food.

    • Might just be my local store but its the opposite for me, Pizza Hut here is somehow always undercooked and their sauces are disgusting on top of that, the 2 times ive tried it in recent memory it has ended up in the bin.

Never had a problen like that at any of the local Domino's locations (though it has been over cooked once).

      • Where I am the domino's closest to me doesn't make decent pizza's and barely adds any toppings and their pizza bases are so damn skinny and very crispy and not made like a typical pizza you could get from a local restaurant.

The Pizza hut that is further out from where I am makes some great cheese lover's pizza which happens to be my favorite pizza from them and it's thick and so much cheese and cooked perfectly. The only issue I have with them is they love to take their time delivering compared to Domino's which is faster than Pizza Hut.

  • I feel like I'm already doing it tough eating Domino's
