Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Launch Trailer video, Official Game Play Demo (Extended Cut) video & Description

A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new third-person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment. This narratively driven, single-player game puts you in the role of a Jedi Padawan who narrowly escaped the purge of Order 66 following the events of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. On a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order, you must pick up the pieces of your shattered past to complete your training, develop new powerful Force abilities and master the art of the iconic lightsaber - all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.

While mastering your abilities, players will engage in cinematically charged lightsaber and Force combat designed to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles as seen in the films. Players will need to approach enemies strategically, sizing up strengths and weaknesses while cleverly utilizing your Jedi training to overcome your opponents and solve the mysteries that lay in your path.

Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear and enemies while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars. As part of this authentic Star Wars story, fans will delve into a galaxy recently seized by the Empire. As a Jedi hero-turned-fugitive, players will need to fight for survival while exploring the mysteries of a long-extinct civilization all in an effort to rebuild the remnants of the Jedi Order as the Empire seeks to erase the Jedi completely.

Was given away on Amazon Prime Gaming in January. Maybe check before buying. : )

sure was, I have it. I think it's also on XGPU

    • +3

Yup. Love it. I still play it now and again. Got a crush on Merrin.

That Amazon Prime Gaming temporary giveaway was a key whose activation/redemption required an EA Origin registered account, and thus, you need to have the Origin DRM client installed for playing the game.

      For the Steam storefront version:

      • there is no requirement with having to set-up an EA Origin account / Origin client software
      • you can also optionally launch/run the game without the Steam client (PCGamingWiki note, GOG forum post)
      • +6

Definitely not knocking the deal. I know a lot of people hate non-Steam keys/games but it's still $10 you don't need to spend if you don't mind going through EA Origin.

I concur, glad you brought up the Amazon Prime Gaming giveaway, as it gave me the opportunity to provide additional context for folks to be aware of the differences between the Origin store version, and the Steam storefront version, of the game.

    • thank you kind sir, I have brought duplicates before as i thought i didn't have it

  • Great game played it on PS5 after paying $2 with my JB perks voucher, also pc version supports Xbox controllers so pretty handy. Plenty of fun for a tenner

Good game. But my goodness, parts of the game require a lot of backtracking. Was almost ready to rage quit.

    • +3

Dathomir. It's like a second home.

      • +4

For me it was Zeffo, felt like I was there for a lifetime.

    • Yeah I didn't finish it for this reason. It wasn't rage, I just got over it. Poor game design.

    • Don't ever play a Metroid. Or for heavens sake Zelda Skyward Sword. Fallen Order is nothing.

  • Must play. Great game

Gonna go against the grain here and say I bought this as a big gamer and Jedi Knight/Outcast/Academy lover, and got bored pretty quickly. It's super generic AAA gaming, press a forward button on a linear track, jump onto climbable walls which happen to exist wherever the character needs to get around, walk along beams while the character animation makes it look like something is happening but really you're just pressing forward, slide down ropes tomb raider reboot style for more animation time where you're not really actually doing anything, etc…

It might get better further on, less linear maybe, but after 1 or 2 hours of it, I was over it, and these days would rather play a game where I'm doing stuff, instead of pressing a forward button and interact button with animations making it look like I'm doing stuff and no real way to even get it wrong or explore.

Also modern games are way too blurry. JFC why do they use so many resources only to blur it all out in a dozen post processing effects.

    • Its part metroidvania. The levels open up as you progress the storyline and expand your abilities.

    • Dam they were really good games !!

This game has nothing on Jedi Knight/Outcast/Academy

You're comparing a star wars themed rpg on rails to the crème de la crème 🤌

      • +1

Amazon gave those away for free on Prime Day. It's so old I can't get the resolution right. It's kind of killed it for me.

    • +1

it was obvious from the start that this was a tomb raider re-skin… but people slurped it up.

  • Played this on the hardest setting all the way through to the final boss… then I had to knock it down two difficulty settings just to finish the game :(

    • Yep. It took me a few hours to beat the final boss on the hardest difficulty.

Luckily I had a huge force bar and all the health power ups. But if you skipped those, it would have been insanely difficult.

    Such a great game.

Reflecting those blaster bolts are always satisfying. I cant wait to see what Respawn does with the sequel. Hopefully they get a bigger budget, bigger dev team and more time.

    • In one of the missions, you'll play as Jar Jar Binks but as a sith.

      • Darth Clumsious.

    Awesome game

Much appreciated. Always wanted to play it but never got round to it. Heard very good things, just picked it up and installing now!

  • I played this while my partner was watching Shameless (US), something felt trippy anytime i happened watch a bit with her, took ages to click what it was haha.

  • I absolutely hated this game. Too repetitive and some of the mechanics were so frustrating.

But I will get the second, for sure.

  • I have this game via Game Pass. Surprisingly deep combat for a franchise game. Replayed via NG+ just for the combat aspects alone. The arena challenges are quite fun.

Some parts of the storyline are a bit 'on rails' but that's pretty standard for a game like this.

Also, '-80% off' is a negative discount #nitpickery
