EDIT: now I have this charger for few days. Terrible coil whine. Gets waaay too hot for its power density and doesn’t do a great job at charging multiple devices at once, always run into issues with laptops complaining about ‘not charging’.

I can’t in good conscience recommend this charger anymore since I had it, so please don’t buy it. There are better charges out there even some of the no name brands are Pretty good.

~~Definitely not as good as the previous Prime deal at $79, but still an okay price for a reputable brand. It hasn't gone on sale since the last time until today. I have been eyeing this and I suspect they are price matching David Jones or Catch. Ships from and fulfilled by Amazon AU. ~~

~~ Beware it doesn't have PPS for Samsung users who wants to use fast charge.
Also there are surely better deals out there for similar none-branded chargers. But this is a nice branded one, and if I am not mistaken Belkin offers device insurance with their product, though not sure if it will apply here. ~~

~~ You can do Officeworks price beat too, but I think free and easy returns is better for me just in case. Plus if it's not in stock at Officeworks it's extra hassle…~~

You can get this for $80 at Goodguys commercial.

    • Don’t have an account unfortunately:( how do you do that?

      • If you have an ABN you should be able to get one I guess

Yeah don't have an ABN. Applied through Sunsuper and Australian Retirement fund many times, never got a reply or an account unfortunately.

I have an ABN, but couldn't find the registration link.

How does one sign up if they do have an ABN?

    • Mate thank for mentioning this. This was the last straw, I finally complained to my super that they were not giving me access to GoodGuys Commercial and what do you know, got a membership link later that day…

Anyway got this and a Belkin USB 4 100W cable. Thanks for letting me know again…

    • didnt think of GGC, $81 to be exact and plus $5 delivery. Still works out cheaper I guess

  • Dammit I JUST bought one of these for uncomfortably more than this

    • if through Amazon, return and get another one now ?

  • The Amazon link says 100v. Is that to be used in the US/Japan only?

  • Did a mini review of this solid unit a few mths ago. I've since bought a 100W cable to go with it and can confirm it charges my XPS15 >85W when low.

    • Yeap, saw that. Honestly part of the reason I thought about buying it because you said there was no coil whine.

Also since found out operating temp for this is 0-25C, which is absolute BS but we will see.

  • Can this PD charge MBP 16” M1 and iPhone at the same time? Thinking of travelling with this than carrying the Apple 140w brick

    • Can it? Yes. BUT obviously at 96W max for the Mac and 12W for iPhone through USB-A, or 65W for Mac and 30W for iPhone, not sure if it balances the 2 ports on the second scenario tbh. but here is the product page with more info: https://www.belkin.com/au/chargers/wall/boost-charge-pro-4-p…

My logic says you are better off with Apple's 140W charger because not only it charges the Mac at high speed and can sustain heavy workloads but you can fast charge the iPhone over the Mac itself — IF you are going to be using them at the same time. If not obv 140W is good for either individually. This is of course if you have a lighting to USB-C cable. If you need USB-A cable, than maybe. but than again you can get a simple small usb a charger too…

Honestly a bit up to you, I can't think of a scenario for you that requires this. Except, if you have more than 2 devices, like also an iPad or watch or something like that.

  • After about a week of using this after pulling the trigger i can state a few things about it.

To address your issues regarding not charging laptops correctly, atleast for my Dell XPS 15 laptop that accepts USB-C for charging an update to the battery drivers where needed aswell as Dells own power manager software (dont remember if thats exactly the name of the software needed). Otherwise it charges the laptop fine.

My charger doesnt suffer the coil whine issue that OP has but it may be a based off of luck. Some of these might have coil whine while others wont.

It does get hot whilst charging but i've only noticed this whilst charging laptops.

Otherwise ive been quite happy with my purchase, although am let down that it doesnt super fast charge Samsung devices so I'm stuck with fast charging only.

    Hope this helps!

    • Hey mate,

first of all you are not experiencing the same issue because it happens with very low wattage applications. In our specific applications - namely Apple Watch. do you have an Apple Watch to charge and see? it pulls extremely low current and cycles current up and down often.

Secondly I actually had 2 of these now because I got it from TGG commercial as it was cheaper. one of them was Rev.01 and the other is Rev.00. Rev.01 had buzzing both for very low current and very high wattage situations.

And yeah there are much better ones out there for cheaper. like this no name brand https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09C1V7RFP/ref=ppx_yo_d…

or name brands like Anker, somewhat now name brands like Baseus etc.

So I'd say this is still not a good buy at all.

I dont have a Apple Watch but ive been using it to charge my Galaxy Watch 4 and have had no issues, no coil whine or buzzing.
I can agree that there are better options out there but the only issue ive run into is over heating on higher wattage applications like laptop charging.

Sad to see your experience with this charger has been mostly negative, but what can you do.
