There are three buttons and one of them is the 'start' (basically the only one I use). The rest can be operated from the eng app. I use the chinese big brother (lol) of this for over two years now and absolutely love it!

Would not rate it highly. It's a good machine that cooks rice well but the base of my pot as started chipping off after a month..

    • chipping off? Do you mean the non-stick layer peels off bit by bit?

      • Not the inside fortunately, but the base of the pot has started chipping off

        • are you putting it in the dishwasher ?
aluminium and dishwasher detergent are a bad combination, so if the base of the pot is exposed aluminium which some are for better heat conduction, wash by hand to stop aluminium corroding and flaking.

Anyone have an idea what the minimum amount of rice you can cook in this?

I have a 1.8L tiger Jnp-1800 and the minimum is about 2 cups of uncooked rice.

Tried 1 cup with no issue.

  • Is it good for brown rice? Basmati?

  • My old, old cheap rice cooker, supposedly non stick, is pretty sticky.
Are there really any truly non stick rice cookers?

    • $14 Anko 7cup Kmart.
      Keep the receipt .
      1 year warranty

      • i got a anko too and use it to cook rice when run out of liquid nails….

  • How safe is the non-stick layer within the pot ?

    • +1

I mean is any synthetic non stick likely to be truly safe? But you need to ask is a Chinese company, based solely in China, going to be liable at all if their products end up being carcinogenic? I doubt it, and I'm sure they doubt it, and they'd have put in an appropriate amount of effort to avoid said chemicals.

  • Is anyone elses order stuck on 'on hold?
