Used this about a month ago with no issues.

    • My mum used them while visiting me in Oz, it has been a horrible experience trying to cancel the service. She does not remember the password of her Gomo account and she does not speak english very well, but no matter how many times she sends them her personnal info (so Optus leaks it later) they refuse to cancel her account.
So avoid this company as much as possible, they might be cheap or free but you will end up paying more as they ask for direct debit and then they make it impossible to cancel the account.

  • Look like z flip3 support dual sim with eSim. I'll try this

  • If you're intending to travel O/S in the near future, can you set this up before departing but still have you local SIM working until you actually leave the country?

    • Your phone should/might let you have more than one esim installed.

      • +2

if phone supports esim you can usually install multiple sims, however only 1 can be active at the time.

        • +2

iPhone 13 can use 2 eSIM at the same time.

          • @jasondinh: Only of you don't have a physical SIM card, it's only a dual SIM phone.

            • @spaceflight: iPhone 13 can do dual eSIM.
Older iPhone is only eSIM + plastic SIM.

        • +2

To clarify. My s10 can recieve text and calls on both sims. You can select an active one to use for ourgoing calls but you should be able to receive incoming calls and text on both dual sims.

          • +2

            @shegeloaf:

            on both dual sims.

Got it, 4 sim cards in total then. 👌

    • wifi calling doesn't work overseas with gomo

  • I get zero reception where I live, but will I actually need reception if this can make AND receive calls over wifi?

I guess txt/mms wouldn't work, but I can live with that.

    • Until your home internet craps out. My NBN died during the floods in Feb and only then did I realise I live in a Telstra blackspot. There was only one spot in my whole house where I could get barely acceptable coverage and we used that corner to check for emergency updates. Have since moved to Optus network, but then I found out my work place is an Optus blackspot…

        Get a satellite phone man!

    We don't talk about scomo

    Optus network.

Better than Telstra Wholesale and Vodafone!

  • Signed up and added to my iPhone 12 mini, no issue at all. Remember to turn off subscription unless you plan to use long term

  • Signed up over the weekend, there was a 12 hour wait for the port though may have been a delay on Vodafone’s end.

I think I might add this to the list of churn-worthy secondary e-sims. I just use the extra data instead of the data from my current long expiry plan.

    • could/would you port out of optus, go to this plan momentarily, then port back to optus for half price 5g plan - would that work?

  • -3

If I’m travelling soon, will I be able to use the data overseas?

    • -2

Is it that hard for you to scroll through the website and read the CIS ?

    • The cis says no international roaming, so the service will not work outside of Australia.

    • +1

nope, nothing work overseas, no roaming, no wifi calling

  • +1

Will it work with apple iwatch

  • +1

A tip for anyone wanting free food - you can use this to create a GYG account for a free burrito :)

  • it gives me error when adding card info, anybody else came across the same issue?

  • -1

Do you get a phone number

  • currently with Boost at the moment, can I port to this in eSim and then port back to my new bought Boost?

    • +1

      Sure why not?

      • +1

great. can save me $2 optus sim

  • +2

I signed up to order one but it changed me $25 ! So it's not free

    • No, that means you've used gomo before.

      • Also, $25 for 40GB is still a good deal, just not an OzB deal.

  • Does one get charged for going over 60gb data limit or data stops or slows down?

    • It stops. You can get 5GB for $5 though.

  • Great service provider, never had issues.

  • +1

You absolutely can use wifi calling overseas, just use a vpn back to the au and your golden.

    • Any free VPNs to connect for Australia from overseas ?

  • +1

Highly recommend. Full Optus prepaid service for less - no speed caps, 5G, VoLTE, WiFi Calling, all Optus bands.

If you're on a Telstra Wholesale MVNO around the $35 mark, this is cheaper and better in every way.

    • 5g?

      • -1

Yes, 5G. Just ran a speedtest and got 250Mbps on my iPhone 13 mini on a $25 per month service.

        • +1

No way, my phone only showed 4g

          • @lgacb08: Do you have a phone that supports 5G and has it on? I'm not making this up - I get 5G on my Gomo service all the time. It might be a trial thing like what Telstra is doing with their prepaid plans, but if that's the case I'm not aware of it.

            • @aidenh37: Yes, s22. I consistently got 5g on boost in most places in Melbourne but none on gomo so far, coverage maps said otherwise.

  • any idea when its going to end?

  • Is this like the first non major 3 to have esim?
Hope boost get esim one day. It's been years waiting.

  • if you dont recharge how long will you get before you loose your number ? if its 180 days will you still be able to receive sms to port out?

  • Got it today. Thanks OP. The 60GB plan includes free international calls to some countries too.
The activation and port-in took a few minutes only. Didn't have to pay or even provide credit card details, as I used chat help.

  • Doesn’t work on iPhone 14 series

Need to get a physical sim as I found out today

  • It says no international roaming. Does it mean I cannot receive sms while overseas for 2FA?

  • Keep on getting an ‘unexpected error ‘ message at credit card and ID screen

    Any way around ?

    Thanks in advance
