  • Did you say Steak?!?

    • said steak, then whispered chicken, bacon , etc ……. should just be called a mixed meat pack

hate these offers because it includes stuff i don’t eat or can get at local supermarket e.g bacon, chicken, etc when i need it …..good steak is trickier at supermarkets as they cut them thin so can feed 4 people and portions are typically under $30 packs so i get them at the butcher as i prefer ticker cuts.

is like aldi, their scotch is 250g so their packs are around $22-$26 depending on peoples budgets, my butcher at the market cuts them 350-400g. his customers aren’t that budget conscious on food.

problem with prime cuts is you want to choose them yourself …….porterhouse steam from the scotch end is different to the rump end , scotches from the chuck end is different to scotch from the porterhouse end, and rump is different from the porterhouse end vs butt end ……same with eye fillet, butt end is different to centre cut etc. you want the best pieces.

You haven't mentioned the actual prices. This isn't a website for free advertising, it's for sharing bargains.

The business model for Sutton Forest Meat and Wine is to just package up a bunch of meat they don't want and sell it as a "bargain"

Kind of like those "meat packs" you get in a raffle that were obviously put together using the cheapest meats.

Sutton Forest Meat and Wine has 109 posts of absolute garbage on ozbargain, they should be banned.

Yes that means you philpy2016, leave and take your spam elsewhere. Nobody wants your meat.

Sutton Forest Meat and Wine is poor quality.

I didn't spam being offered as part of their bundle…

It's all grain-fed anyway from my browsing. Use your local butcher that sells grass-fed at similar prices or better yet, get a farm-direct monthly delivery.
I've been trying a "farm to my door" 10kg/m pack since February. Get all varieties of cuts for $26/kg.

        • the lamb back straps if de-nudged at $28 (had the fat and tough tissue removed) would be cheap …….supermarket is about $45 for trimmed backstraps , so is prahran market.

they should try just doing a deal on lamb backstraps …..no chicken bacon etc,

  • This is not a bargain.

Who'd pay $160 for 3kg of rump steak? You probably need a whole set of teeth for that chewy chunk before you could even get to a piece of chicken or mince.

  • Lol, the most hated seller in Ozb…

  • I can't see the value here compared to the same products that I would purchase in my weekly shop @ aldi.

    I surely ain't going to pay $15 for a 250g rump.

  • Where bargain

not sure about the haters on here. Many haven't realised what is included in this pack…not just 3kg rump, plenty of other things in this pack. In saying that, I have never tried their meat, nor can I find where their "store" is to use the $20 gift card instore.

  • If you want peerless quality meat delivered cryovaced and chilled, then you want Vic's. The only meat we buy now. Note: No connection, just a customer! Best choice: The O'Connor Centre Cut Rump, NY style (ie .. 1" thick)! Comes in 500 gram cryovac tray. $18, unless they're doing their (frequent) 20% off. This is about supermarket price but a cut above .. 💖 .. !! Free shipping above $125.
