    That is a 2k display not 4k.

      Have fixed it. Thanks.

      wrong 2560 + 1440 = 4000 ;)

    • These marketing terms always confuse me - I would've thought 2k = 1920 x 1080 as 4k = 3840 x 2160 :\

      • +1

Ye it's kinda weird. It's called 4k because it have 4 times the pixels of a 1080p monitor while 2k has 1.77 times the pixels of a 1080p monitor which is a bit weird.

TLDR: It's crap even at this price

      • +4

I assume you're saying it's crap purely from a price standpoint. I don't mean to sound disingenuous. If it was cheaper it would be a perfectly capable product for most people. According to RTINGS at least it performs very similar to the darling LG monitor of Ozbargain (GL/GP850.) There's nothing inherently crap about the product if it's price was competitive. I'm not dismissing Hardware Unboxed, I just find there's a bit of negative dramatization that's given to this monitor that extends artificially beyond its price. Monologue over.

        • +1

Nope, it'd still be crap even if it's cheaper. Rtings has a long history of innacurrate measurements, and if HWUB says it measures poorly, it likely does, with response times just as bad than your cheap sub $300 VA panels.

Pay a little extra or spare a bit for decent alternatives, this one doesn't even have a VESA mount, even the stand looks ugly as hell. $300 I might consider.

  • May I suggest the cheaper alternative: Razer Chroma ARGB controller for 65$ at mwave + whatever WS2812b compatible ARGB light strip you want stickied to the back of your better monitor.

INB4 'there are other argb controllers why razer' because this model is the only one afaik that takes a normal micro usb input and a 5v dc input jack that you can buy a external power adapter for, making it suitable for installations outside a pc and/or for those with a laptop. Im using this exact setup right now and works like a charm.

  • will the odyssey g7 27 ever go down to this price? it's like one of the only decent monitor in the market space atm

  • Same price at Umart anyway, nothing super special about this …
