Officeworks Philips Wireless FM Headphones SHC5102 (2 Headphones) $49.50

50

Half price, Philips Wireless FM Headphones SHC5102 (2 Headphones)
Dicksmith has these for $99.98 at the same price as the single headset ones ($99.98). They wouldn't even discount the price when I asked them for cheapest.

It isn't on Officeworks site, but I got it in store (Nunawading Vic) for $49.50. There was no clearance sticker it was on the shelf with a normal tag.

Don't have my cam with me, so can't take photo of receipt.

  • I noticed you bought two different wireless headphone products.

Any relation between the two? Do they work together?

    • No technical relation. The cheaper pair works via FM, whereas the more expensive pair transmits the audio digitally over the 2.4Ghz frequency band.

      • I see, I'll give the deal a positive then as it seems a bargain for what it is.

How do you rate them for sound quality?

edit: Sorry didn't read, thought you posted the deal! Maybe lplau can chime in with an opinion.

        • They aren't bad, sound quality quite good. However need a good location to put them so there isn't much interference.
The PHSHD8600 which is on that receipt is better, since it uses digital, however if there is heaps of 2.4ghz interference (e.g. a strong wireless router), then it may cut out. There are cheaper 2.4ghz headphones like dicksmith ones which can be gotten for $79.00, however they are really susceptible to interference.

I haven't had any interference issues with the Phillips 2.4ghz Headphones yet, and it is pretty much right next to my wireless N modem which has 3 x 9dbi Antennas (Super Large Antenna). The Dicksmith branded ones kept on cutting in and out, and the dicksmith ones has power saving issues, way too aggressive power saving, when there is a person whispering in the audio it would turn itself off.

The tradeoff really is the price, the digital ones are almost 3x the price as the analogue ones.

For $49 the analogue ones are a true bargain.

  • does the wireless signal effect on human tissue/brain ?

  • bought it last time for $99 (Dual Headphones) @ Bing Lee(free delivered)
