2 in 1 That Gives a Close to Microsoft Surface Experience

I'm in the market for a new 2 in 1 laptop.

My previous Asus laptop is close to ten years old, has a failed battery but works super, plugged in.

I mainly do word processing, but would like something additional to replace my ipad mini hence on the lookout for a 2 in 1, so both devices can stay combined.

I was aiming for a Surface Pro 7 or 8. However, the battery swelling issues have been a huge discouragement from going that route. Would love something solid that will last a while.

Spouse has a lenovo 2 in 1, he has hardly used the tablet feature, says its too bulky with the keyboard et all.

Suggest me please a good 2 in 1 that gives a close to Surface experience lol. My budget is upto $1500. Hope I'm not dreaming!

    Not too far away from $1500 … the XPS 13 Evo was released with the slow U series 12 th Gen

        @kerfuffle: Sorry last generation was 2-1 , I got it for $1300 and this generation coming soon. Wont be $1500 but that be better spec than surface.
        Then again i don't really use it as tablet.

I just don’t think windows is there yet as far as optimisation for tablet use tbh.

I have had my surface book 2 since 2018 (paid a really hefty price for it brand new though cause I was dumb that time about the discounted Gift cards etc.), Been a happy Microsoft Customer. would recommend you sticking to Microsoft surface items. Even second hand used ones under warranty are good. Microsoft CS is excellent, anything in warranty is generally covered.
