It shouldn't cost them $30 to send off a pair of headphones…

Dollars to donuts these are FAKE!

Bose don't discount headphones - especially not by this much. A number of US deal sites have been bitten recently by selling fake Bose, so I'd be amazed if that wasn't also the case here.

    • I wouldn't think DealFox woukd sell counterfeit products. I've contacted them and waiting for a response.

      • +1

May well be they wouldn't deliberately sell fakes, but like I said a number of trustworthy deal sites in the US were bitten as they didn't realize the goods were fakes until it was too late. eg, http://www.geekwire.com/2012/daily-deal-site-tippr-plans-mas…

I know nothing of DealFox so I can't comment one way or another as to whether they are legit, but like I said, dollars to donuts the headphones themselves are NOT real Bose.

        • If you know nothing of dealfox I don't know how you can just say these headphones are fake.

I have bought Bose headphones from dealfox from a previous deal, where the store rep explained the heavy discounts were due to the fact they got the stock from A liquidated Retailer.

I have no problems with the headphones at all and no problems with registering for warranty.

I would assume this is just stock from the previously mentioned sale that wasn't sold off.

          Proof: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67961

Edit: I've also visited various stores that carry the headphones (Bose at Westifled Sydney, Apple stores) and compared the feel and quality of the headphones and they were exactly the same, serial numbers in the same format etc.

          ?

Those were beats. This is Bose. I personally bought a pair from the previous deal I posted, and have checked that they are genuine, how can I be wrong?

pretty gullible for a bandit arent ya?

        • If I were gullible I'd believe you. Prove my set of Bose are fake then.

        • +1

send them to me..i will use them for a while and let you know :)

        • +1

          Ready to send. Address? :)

  • probably fake! Postage is ridiculous

      • +3

They also known for selling fake headphones. What a reputation!

  • +4

Fake. Call up Bose support, they will tell you if it's that cheap it's probably fake. And giving them a serial number to check over the phone won't cut it, because the genuine article with that serial number could be floating around elsewhere. Look on youtube, there are fakes of Bose that look EXACTLY like the real thing (they know it's fake because it was like $10), the only difference is the audio quality which you can't tell until you get hearing problems…

    • +4

the only difference is the audio quality

The fakes are probably better lol.

  • I stopped looking for Bose products online.

Twice I bid on a set of Bose from reputable sellers, twice ebay closed down the sales.

  • +1

Some reputable websites sell this headset at around $135 shipped in US. So $130 delivered is not that impossible. Also, I guess the shipping cost is set overpriced to make the product being priced lower than $100.

    • Anyone selling them for US$135 is not an authorized Bose reseller, which has to make you question the source of the headphones.

For better of worse, Bose controls pricing for most of their products, and authorized resellers can not go below that price.

Right now you'll find countless shops selling these headphones for $161.95. Why that exact price? Because Fathers Day (in the US) is coming up, and Bose is allowing it's resellers to discount many products by 10%. $179.95 (RRP) - 10% = $161.95.

  • OE2i at $130?
    I wouldn't risk it

DealFox used to be really clear about shipping costs and didn't try to con you in to low prices and then high shipping like many sites, but it seems that has changed now :( a shame
