Doesn't seem like much of a saving from the normal price? https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B002OL6NT0

Seems like normal price to me, bought them before, not that great..

    • +1

Second this. Not great. You're better off going to a cheap Indian takeaway and paying $5 for any of these

      • +5

I should hope a freshly made meal is better than a heat-n-eat packet! Wish I had a $5 takeaway nearby. Mine are all $12+

      • +2

except the fact no one sells it for $5 anywhere near me,
everywhere at least $11.90 for cheapest decent good curry/gravy/cheese whatever it is

        • +1

Oh jeez, I'm quite lucky then. In that case these packets are definitely worth the price over a $12 alternative. They're really not that bad if you lower your expectations to a $2.20 curry

A lot of mixed reviews on Amazon. Better read before you buy!

  • -1

    Taste like shit

    • +1

      Why you eat this?

    • +1

      How do you know?

  • +2

    These are incredibly bland!

  • +2

    The reviews look suspicious

  • +1

Okay I tried this last time and it's rubbish especially the paneer butter masala one

    Spoiled my stomach.

  • +3

Just beware these ones are quite salty!

    • +1

Add a tin of beans and it feeds two with half the salt.

  • 🤮

  • Chana Masala is Vegan if that matters to you. Quite tasty. Sure, I can cook better. We can all make a better burger than a big mac too but convenience is convenient.

  • +3

From my experience Best tasting ones are (in order of best to good)
Panner Tikka Masala, Shahi Panner, Panner Makhni, Panner Butter Masala, Dal Makhni, Navratan Korma, Pav Bhaji, Rajma Masala.

I wish they Amazon made all of them to $2.2 price tag like before, unlike now where its only unpopular/less popular ones for $2.2.

(Any other flavor I wont buy usually)

    DONT Buy ones are

Bhindi Masala, and Sambar - These two taste pretty bad IMO

  • +1

Agreed that these taste shyte, even for mild flavour.
Coles have a version of this in medium which surprisingly was not bad at all on the the spice and flavour. Currently on special 2 for $5. Much better value than MTR.

  • Must be different results for different flavours. Looking at google I've made 17 purchases (Each purchase is 6 units) of the Channa Masala. I find it handy for camping and when my home made big batches have run out.

  • Recommend not eat these straight out of the packet if you can. They have preservatives + flavoring is to their taste. Better to fry a basic curry base (some onions, ginger garlic + chilli powder), dilute the base and you can make two meals out of it. Also check that they are not short dated or expired. Might explain why people are having issues.

    • I have eaten this brand well after expire with no effects - but not containing meat so ymmv
