AppleCare Protection Plan for MacBook Air or 13\" MacBook Pro
As I am thinking of buying this as a useful birthday present for a very good friend And am not familiar with Apple stuff I could use advice where to get this for the lowest price in Sydney

Price for applecare is tightly regulated by Apple. You used to be able to buy them off ebay, but they've stopped that now (for the most part). Places like JB might be a couple of dollars cheaper than the apple store, but it's going to be pretty similar either way
