20% off Storewide (Max Discount $1000) @ The Gamesmen eBay

667
TGTURNS40

20% off across The Gamesmen eBay store. Quite a few first-party switch games at a shade under $60 after the code.

Edit: Keep in mind that they'll probably have some sort of sale on their website tomorrow, when they've planned for their 40 year birthday celebrations.

When they're charging $182 for a product with an RRP of $169 & that Amazon sells for $98, their 20% off sale feels a little meh.

But they've got a store you can walk into and touch and feel the things you're buying and talk to a salesperson… oh wait.

But I don't want to shit bag them too hard, they did the best ever price on ticket to ride Europe the other week, and it's a great place to pick up gear, with their mini museum out back

I always want to support local businesses but when they inflate the prices and the sale price is still even more expensive than other places it is difficult to support them.

    • I guess you should then order from them directly instead of via ebay? eBay always ask for an extra 13% as commission…

I grabbed the Mario kart 8 and breath of the wild bundle. Already owned them on Wii U but the kids aren't that keen on last gen.

Hi OP, please include some examples of good deals to be had with this 20% off, I took a quick look and everything seems to be quite overpriced before the markdown and I didn't find anything interesting.

    • Simracing gear, g29/920 or t248/t300 rs gt/t-lcm pedals. don't bother with anything else it seems, even basic joysticks like the extreme 3d pro or t16000m don't have competitive pricing with the discount anyway

Yeah man this is my preferred place to buy games. Horrible story and I think it’s great to see it run so well and competitively today.

I feel like the Gamesmen push the 'local business' angle a bit too much?

I've bought a few games and other things from them since 2009 but they've never been my first preference.

I also used to live near the Penshurst store. It's nice they have a museum and all sorts of cool shit inside but I really just want to buy my games and electronics at the cheapest price and get out.

    • +3

Yeah, I lived on Ocean St for a couple of years

    • I didn't know they had a museum, they bought my 80's Mario Crystal Screen a few years ago so I guess that might be in there.

    • I feel like the Gamesmen push the 'local business' angle a bit too much?

I feel its sorta hurts it a bit. I wouldn't mind supporting a local business but most of the time I see them come off as anticonsumer. I understand a few dollars more in prices, but it feels like I'm seeing jacked prices before a discount or console+controller forced combo thats higher then RRP put together (or maybe it was equal?) and a odd push of the "local business" angle as you say.

I understand them needing money to compete but it makes them feel like they're no different to Amazon, EB Games or JbHifi. And IMO most of those have other internal advantages. So instead of purchasing local first in my mind, I just go for cheapest/easiest/fastest which is usually the others.

    Amazon $69

    • Can you link the amazon for $69, cant seem to find it…

      • Do a google search it will ist the cheapest outlets for ya.

        • Better late than never I guess…Google wasn't showing the $69 price you suggested. Found it by clicking through amazon, which is what I was asking for.

  • I was gonna buy g29 wheel for $399 i missed out then but i think i can get it here now for like 330$ or with a shifter for like $399 ish soo should i buy what y'all think? is the g29 worth it, worst case scenario i could resell at a profit no?

  • Hugh Jackmen.

  • Might be worth it for some simracing gear (T248 $400, T300 RS GT $585, T-LCM $340, G29/920 no shifter $340 or G29/920 w/ shifter $400, no idea if those are much good compared to previous deals) but everything else seems to be just bringing prices back to what they should be tbh

    • I thought about the g29 and gearstick, glad i didn't buy it probably not that good of a deal to be honest. And at the comong months I wouldn't have time to use it I reckon. Maybe some time in the next 6 months to a year I'll buy a wheel or maybe commit to that t300rs

was actually 20% off store wide in-store yesterday.

    • Funny they advertised the event starting at 11-3 but I got there about 15mins earlier and store was already busy. Was able to get in without lining up and got what I wanted. When I walked out the store holy crap, the line got so massive, it stretched well around the corner. So glad I went early!
