Was just looking at reviews on youtube about the Canon 650D, there just so happened to be an ad that I saw that gave free shipping! Awesome! seems it can be used on any orders over $150 so worked fine when I applied it to my new camera 650D + 18 - 135mm STM Kit! Price for this camera body only seems to be the best you can really get even O/S similar price..

Compared to.. ? The Technology is new, so of course the price is higher, 3.5fps -> 5fps from the 600d as well
any price comparisons?
RRP is $1199 for the 650D with the 18-135mm lens, price isnt too bad for body only (RRP is ~$850)
Yes i know retailers need to make money, but its not like they buy them for full price anyway and i guarantee people such as digital rev will do it cheaper then this (as long as you dont mind importing).
I imported my 550D with full warranty from Digital Rev and i would again if i needed to. Australian technology is far too expensive.I have seen a lot of reviews by Digital Rev guys on youtube, didnt know they sell cameras as well. Will definately have a look at them.
I Purchased the body only, $899.95 with free delivery, you are right about the price higher for the camera with lens, I've currently got the 600D
If i needed a new body i would probably grab one, but my 550D is still going strong and only has about 12k photos on it. Only a matter of time before i burn my sensor out though doing astrophotography.
I purchased it as I have a keen buyer for my current 600D at a reasonable price :) so the upgrade cost me not to much really, I got it mainly for the fact of better AF and faster fps
Ted's is generally known to just be expensive…
some things aren't badly priced. Bought a printer last week from Teds for about $800 but couldn't find it any where else for under $1200
At $1400 doesn't that put it close to the D7000 + 18-105mm kit? The D7000 is a much better camera isn't it?
And doesn't that show the D7000 as being significantly better?
Weather proofing yes, but other features no, Plus I've got a huge range of Canon lenses I'm not switching to Nikon any time soon
Agreed. Pentaprism viewfinder, dual memory card slots and double / triple the battery life are features that even noobs will find handy. In camera HDR? A touchscreen? No thanks
I believe the Canon has much better video quality, and it is quite a lot cheaper. If I had canon lenses I definitely wouldn't change systems over the differences.
I tried to get them to price match a 7D, the best they could do is A$1399. Disappointed.
Same. Tried to get them to price match the 60D from camerapro.net.au ($825 + 19) on the hopes that I could go to a store and pick the camera up, instead of waiting for shipping. They offered $900 + shipping and no store pick-up :(
Think Tank bags are still > 10% dearer @ Teds than camerapro, even with free shipping.
teds' will always be overpriced. hate their pricing strategy.
How is this a bargain?
Teds is always overpriced. Not even with looking at it even though it's free shipping.
Overpriced, you might as well get grey import and save the extra cash for some lens or camera bag which probably ends up being cheaper in total than what they sell for a body at Teds.
Umm.. did you even bother to look at prices? Find me a O/S Seller lower then $849.95 delivered.. for a local body $899.95 seems to be the going rate everywhere!
Once the camera is actually released grey importers will very likely beat whatever price it is selling for here. I saw it happen with the NEX-7. Doesn't really warrant a negative vote, though.
And still over priced…
