Focal Headphones Sale: Celestee $999, Radiance $1599, Clear Mg $1799, Utopia $3499 Delivered @ Addicted to Audio

140

There are discounts on Focal headphones at ATA.
Utopia for $3499, Clear MG for $1799, etc.

Absolutely great price for Utopia. The lowest price for Utopia was $2999 but those were B Stocks. This time it's $3499 brand new.

Clear for $1199 is also a bargain. I got mine for around $2000 a few years ago. They sound very decent and are much easier to drive than most of the competitors like HD800s

Note: there is a rumour that Utopia has been out of production for some time and Focal is going to release its successor very soon.

  • Why do people keep pushing for Addictedtoaudio when some comments say they don't take care of your customers and Minidisc Australia has them for the same price?

    • From the guy who spams Amazon deals……

At least A2A have physical stores across the country so you can demo things and physically confront them about issues if needed

      • +6

Amazon customer service is quite the opposite actually, you should know that already if you have spent enough time here.

"physically confront them" yeah that doesn't matter at all does it if they still refuse to solve your problem?

I personally don't have any issues with either Addictedtoaudio or Minidisc, just found by a quick search that Minidisc have the exact same prices so suggested them as an alternative.

Since you brought up my posts I took the liberty of checking yours. Your criticism is big for someone contributing with 0 posts.

You also managed to pick low hanging fruit by mentioning my Amazon deals as spam. It hasn't been long since I signed up, so most of my deals are from Amazon yes because that is the website I frequent. But if you look at my earlier deals they were genuinely good prices, you just cherry picked the few recent expensive deals I posted because that fit your narrative of "Amazon spam".

Wow, could spend the cost of a top-tier gaming rig for headphones

    • +1

Also the cost of a brand new top of the line Honda Mower as well. Horses for courses and depends on what you're into at the time I guess. I was into high end headphones for a while but have since moved on to other interests. My XM3 have kept me happy since parting with my expensive head phones.

Wow, could touch grass for $0 instead of spending $3500 on a top tier gaming rig.

The headphones won't be obsolete in a few years

      • -3

All technology becomes obsolete, I fail to see how these would be any different.

        • +2

Sound doesn't really change the way games/computers do. Great headphones from the 1990s are still great headphones.

sadly my hearing is no where near good enough use these headphones

  • The radiance are 'chefs kiss'. If I didn't already buy the hd800s I would be super interested. Biggest issue with focal is some tend to break pretty easy, which isn't great at this price.

  • A2A keeping Stellia out :(

    only bought 2..

  • What is the difference between Clear, Clear Mg and Clear Professional (the deal from like 2 years ago)?

  • Just out of curiousity, is stuff like this mostly for people who have jobs related to audio or something? Or are they targeted to the general public? (asking cos the cost surprises me)

    • +1

General public. Here goes the saying I ain’t rich enough to buy cheap stuff. I’ve probably spent 2-3K in total on cheap/er heaphones in the last 15 years. Buying the Focal Clear would set you back $1.2k which btw is a real bargain for what you get and it will allow you to really enjoy your music listening experience. They could also get away with a cheap amp/dac $150-300 to drive them since they are not that demanding to drive. I personally opted for the Focal bundle Arche + clear for a total of $2399, which is one of the best hifi audio deals ever, A2A still has that running.

    • +1

Well not really, people who have jobs relating to audio will want really flat, clear headphones, so that they can tune the audio for a range of headsets and speakers.
These are designed for people who want to enjoy what they listen to.

Also wired headphones last for decades. Just like good speakers. You could get 2nd hand Sennheisers from the 90's and they should still work the same as new if they were looked after.

Whereas the cheap consumer wireless headphones - airpods etc, need replacement batteries which aren't possible to do so they get buried as rubbish. If you're sustainability minded then you'll spend more for something that lasts for life.
(That being said, the Focals apparently have brittle headbands that break easily)

      • agree with you, just the last part about the Focal headbands does not hold true, it depends on the specific model and the way you take care of them.

Think of it as a hobby/lifestyle thing. Like any hobby, there are costs involved. For example, if you are into Golf, then you have to buy clubs, clothes, shoes, membership etc. Could and would easily be more than some of these headphones. Or, you could be into Motorcycles (which many people are). Those don't run cheap either.

People get happiness in different ways and have different interests. If you ever try one of these headphones, you will be blown away by what you can hear. Then you end up chasing better and better gear and experiences!

I've always been into audio since being exposed to my parent's sound system when I was a kid. I've spent a bunch on headphones over the years, and if I had it all again, I would definitely go the route of something high end instead of chasing small incremental improvements. I recently bough a Focal Elegia (model not listed here), and it is my favourite headphone out of the many I own. I admit that it was far cheaper than these (I think it was around $800).
