    I had a Panasonic charger which only switched off after 15 hours or so without proper charge monitoring, had to change batteries in pairs, got IKEA charger for $10 amd it is much better and charging was faster too. IKEA batteries were also cheaper

    I watched a video which made a case for all Japanese made NiMH batteries being the same. So the current gen of stuff at IKEA is the same battery is eneloop

      The Eneloop Pros are higher capacity vs IKEA:
      AA = 2550mAh vs 2450mAh
      AAA = 950mAh vs 750mAh

        If you check out the video, at the 5 minute 10 mark he starts the testing methodology, goes through the charge discharge cycle, showing that they are identical and then tests the total capacity with both sets coming in at 2301 mAh. Eneloop Pros are a better bet than gambling on ikea stuff being the same product.

      Last I went to Ikea they didn't have the Japanese white ones anymore.

        Same - seems IKEA has stopped selling 900mAh AAA batteries. Haven't seen them since white LADDAS were phased out end of last year.

    I thought all manufacturing returned to Japan these days, is that not the case? I must admit I haven't been paying much attention as I have 60 odd Eneloops from the Sanyo Japan days, all over 10 years now but still going strong with a smart charger.

      some eneloop still made in china …..the low drain ni-mh battery tech is now old hat and well established. the problem is with so many no name brands you don’t always get the current capacity and that is what a brand like ladda (ikea) and eneloop ensures …..and most people aren’t going to do own capacity checks and fewer people have chargers with that function vs quick charger that came with batteries.

      i have some no name chinese AA that are rated 3000mah ….. they don’t seem to last as,long as the chinese eneloop 2100mah ……

    depends which model Xtar, my Xtar does 18650 and AA and AAA ni-mh. They have MV and VC series which does ni-mh and lithium.
