Kodi on Exetel nbn - Anyone else having issues?

Edit : figured out its my Telstra Gen 3 modem that's causing the issue. Turned off the ipv6 and everything working fine now. Not sure what it is but I hope I won't need it, nothing to do with Exetel at all (although that setting was always on before I churned and had no issues then)

So I'm running Ezra on Kodi with Real Debrid, everything was running smoothly until I changed over to Exetel yesterday.

Things aren't loading, prescraping always turns up with 0 results so it'll do a full load and eventually plays something (not all the time sometimes it just times out), had a lot of 'no results found' etc.

Turned Nordvpn on the tv, and found that it works again. Does Exetel block the servers or something? I thought this was a gray legal kind of area and that it wouldn't be blocked, is this something I can ask them to unblock or do I just have to live with it until I churn? :< was pretty happy with the overall speed in other areas…

Have you tried changing your dns?

    • I did change the ipv4 and 6 to the google dns. I'm using the Telstra smart gen 3 modem and it only gives me a list to choose from, not manually type. Not sure which one to use..

      • Have you tried changing the dns on your tv rather than just your router?

    • I'm pretty sure the block is coming from the actual telstra modem. I've got a google home plugged into it so I connected to that wifi and it works normally. But it doesn't on the telstra wifi 6 modem???

Check if you're on a cgnat

    • I don't even know what that is lol. But it was working fine right before I churned to exetel

Cgnat would have been the issue if you were not able to connect at all, but the way you are describing, it's just the exetel home secure acting weired. Cancel that after logging in your account and you should be good.

        • I actually cancelled that on the first day as I read people's comments that it caused them issues. But I turned off the ipv6 setting on my modem and it works now. But my wifi icon still has the 6 on it so not sure what I turned off haha

          • @MeesusEff: The 6 icon is a Wi-Fi 6 connection between your device and Telstra SM G3.

          • @MeesusEff: That's wifi 6, not ip v6. You are all good.

  • Happened to me as well on some service when I moved to exetel.
Exetel provide some kind of security trial for 1 month when you join (i think its called home secure). It basically gives it full access to route the traffic the way it wants which breaks a few things.
Just login to your account and cancel that home secure trial. You will be good to go.

I cancelled that on the first day as I read it was causing people issues. Turns out i needed to turn off the ipv6 setting on my modem.
