Travel by ShopBack eGift Card

I just purchased one of these gift cards (under the Jetstar banner in the Shopback app) I purchased a $30 voucher, assuming I could swap it for the same value to Jetstar….instead I find I can only do $25 and then have a remainder of $5….which I can't then swap for anything at all, as no others on the site do less than $10…..any way I can do anything about this?? I don't want to use it for any of the other ones anyway, not webjet, not flight centre etc. I wanted it solely for Jetstar….if they have those purchase options under Jetstar gift cards on their app, then that is false advertising. They should only have the denominations that are accepted to swap for Jetstar. ATM looks like I stuck with purchase of $30, but can only use $25….wasted $5

maybe, but that isn't the point.

  • Same thing happened to me. I've charged it to experience. I've marked the voucher as used so I can move on.

  • Assuming your Jetstar flights are going to cost more than $150, buy 5?

    • wasn't using it towards flights though

      • If you were buying Club Jetstar, it seems like you will be buying Jetstar flights at some stage in the next year or so.

        • I already have flights, not sure when I will be buying anymore (I had selected to add Club Jetstar during the booking process, and it was showing that I had and reflecting the reduced cost of seats and bags, but for some reason it didn't actually add it when I paid, so the seats and bags reverted to the normal price and I didn't know until the next day when I logged into my account and noticed I still didn't have Club Jetstar. I just wanted this to go towards the club jetstar and needed to use a voucher that was going to expire soon. That's all.

  • You won't get far for $30.

    • I was using towards Club Jetstar…I had the $20 voucher that Qantas gave for vaccination last year and needed to use the voucher before it expires 1/11. I purchased the $30 voucher towards the rest of the cost. If they have the denominations under the Jetstar banner in Shopback, they should correspond to the Travel gift card denominations you can swap…after all it is a Shopback gift card issued through Prezzee….it would have been fair enough if I bought it as the Travel gift card and got caught out, but they have it as a separate option in the app to buy for Jetstar.

  • Bruh it's $5, surely your time is worth more than posting on a bargain forum about it. Time value of money, speaking of why am I wasting my time commenting on this post 😂😂😂

    • Will charge you$5 for reading your comment

I've chatted to OP via DM, Just as an FYI the $5 or any leftover amount can still be left on your account and combined with a future Travel Swap card provided you're logged into your Prezzee account, Prezzee will save the remaining un-Swapped balance if you want to use at a later date.

I've passed on the feedback that this could be clearer to users to the ShopBack Gift Cards team, hopefully this is something we can make clearer for the community.

Reach out to me via DM if you have any specific issues you want me to look into, as always.

    • Hey all, just as an update, turns out I was operating on some conflicting info - these cards can no longer be combined, only a few of our Swap cards that are not powered by Prezzee can be used as a combined balance. I'm working with the gift cards team to make this process more user-friendly and stop instances of unusable funds happening.

If you do have any issues, however, as always, please reach out via DM so that I can help out.

Sorry for the confusion! Thanks heaps for your patience with me.

      • Can we cancel an order. I have not swapped yet but exact same thing as the OP. I am willing to return it and order a bigger amount gift card.

        • Hey mate. Gift cards are typically pretty strictly non-refundable, but I'd definitely reach out to us at [email protected] to see what can be done here for you.
