Truthfully I don't mind signing up for the 24 month plans with Telstra/Optus, assuming they are the $69/month ones. What should I do? I am in need of a new phone ASAP but would like the best price possible of course
Looking to Get a Galaxy S22, Ideally Soon. What Is The Best Way to Go about This?
Comments
I haven't, no. It seems like if I was going to go that route, the best way would be via JB HiFi right? Since they seem to offer the same plans as Telstra, but also with a ~$700-1000 gift card at the right time. Would this be something Telstra would do?
My ideal scenario would probably be to get on a $69/month plan with Telstra (maybe cheaper with the port in) and get a Galaxy s22 for as little as possible

Bonus $400 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card with Telstra $69 100GB/Month, 12 Month Plan (New/Port-in, in-Store/Call Back) @ JB Hi-Fi
'ASAP' and 'cheap' usually don't go together.
Check JB Hifi (Telstra) as well….?
Unfortunately yeah :/ I've been hunting around to get a good price, but my phone has seemingly died on me so now it's kind of urgent. As I mentioned to another commenter, would going through Telstra themselves be worthwhile?

If I was going to go with the Telstra network, I would go directly with Telstra (expecting it to work out a little pricier though if you go into the details). But they've mixed up the monthly prices and plan inclusions a little to try and make it hard to compare. It's really up to what you require. You may be able to negotiate a little at JB or ask if you can get some freebies thrown in/discounted.
24 months
what year is this?
what should you do
JB inevitably is going to be doing another $500 gc event for 12 month telstra and should be keen to get the s22's moving with iphone around the corner and the countdown already ticking towards an s23 lol.
I get that it's antiethetical to the ethos of OzBargain to be okay with paying a little more for convenience etc., but honestly I think I'd be pretty content on a Telstra plan, with good service, for 24 months, assuming I could keep the price reasonable for the initial outlay for the phone
Better off buying a burner and waiting for a deal.
The S22+ is currently on special with Telstra with a device repayment of $37.46 per month before you even add a plan. No way Id be going down that path unless you are absolutely desperate and have money burning a hole in your pocket.
Thought about going second hand? Just picked up a 22+ for 750 that had been used for less than a month. I've seen s22's on there for as little as $600
Also just be wary the battery life of an s22 isn't great, i'd go for the bump in size of the s22+.
where did you get the second hand 22+ from?
Marketplace, made sure it came with the box etc.
Have you been to a Telstra store yet?
