  • Nice TV,.. but don't know if it's a nice price also,.. bookmarked 👍😁

The Samsung Q70A is a good mid-range 4k TV. While it lacks certain features that you get with higher-end models, like full-array backlighting and local dimming, it has an exceptionally high contrast ratio. Although there are better TVs for less, it comes with many advanced features like eARC, HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and VRR support.

      • Thanks 👍

  • Whats the major difference between 60A and 70A ?

    • +1

      120Hz on 70A, only 60Hz on 60A

    • +1

One of them is hdmi2.1 port, the 70s get one whereas 60s don't.

What is the diff between QLED and OLED?

      • +15

Well, people only buys TVs every now and then.

    • +18

QLED - Normal LED with a Quantum Dot Layer

OLED - Organic LED where the individual LEDs are Self Lit

        Thanks friend

So OLED same found on AMOLED screens on highend Samsung mobiles, I'm guessing better then QLED, thanks too 😀

OLED made by LG Display have a WRBG sub-pixel layout.

QD-OLED made by Samsung Display (Sony A95K, Samsung S95B) have a RGB sub-pixel layout.

AMOLED panels made by Samsung Display for mobile devices have a PenTile RGBG layout.

WRGB has been the standard in OLED TVs for a long time now, but the QD-OLED's lack of a white sub-pixel means it has a higher colour volume without the dilution of the white sub-pixel.

PenTile displays tend to have poor text rendition but usually isn't an issue given the high pixel density on our phones.

  • It looks as though the Q70A is the same price https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-q70a-75-qled-4k-s…

  • 404 not found ? What's going on with JB website ?

    • I believe it's Sold out

  • Q60A price dropped and still available at Helensvale and Perth (delivery)

Why non of these available in Sydney :(

    • They dropped the price because of 20% off some 75" above Samsung TV, those bought the Q70A should wait for the 20% off, I posted too early.

  • The price of the Q70A is right..

  • Honestly, what is even the point of these posts if they’re unavailable everywhere?

This post is 3hrs old, yet the vast majority of users here cannot get one.

There is been a spate of these over the last few days, same situation.

And this post has 51 updoots….

Check others popular ozbargain deals, most won't last very long just because posted here otherwise they may sit there at JB nobody know.

    • I secured one thanks to op.

    • +3

Just because it is unavailable almost everywhere doesn't mean it is a bad post..
What about the people who it is available to…?
Last time i checked ozbargain is about finding good deals and giving opportunity to others to purchase it. Not to satisfy you only…

  • How often do people upgrade their TV's?

  • I just purchased this TV for $1488 last week in Sydney :(.
Can I asked JB Hifi for price adjustment and get back the difference?

    • +1

Q70A or Q60A? You can try customer support.

      • Q60A. Yeah, will try it tomorrow. I read some website mentioned JB have 14 days price adjustment protection, but could not find it in their official website. Lets see.

I bought it last week as well from Geelong for $1488. Went to my local store today and they refunded $298 straight away.

      • +1

Same. Sent email to the support and got the reply this morning saying they are processing my refund. Took 5-7 business days though but all good. :)

  • Thanks OP, ordered one in Perth just now

  • Noob question. Is it possible to get someone like the Good Guys to price match this? No stock in ACT but I’d love to get one of these

    • +1

You can try, I did try today for the Sony X95J, they can do a better price but not at JB price.

    • Have tried - the manager said quote "Then go buy it from JB Hifi" =D

  • Saw a QLED the other day and the picture looked awesome front on, but terrible slightly to the side. Is this a byproduct of the QLED screen "stuff" they put on?

    • That's the VA panel for you. High end VA panels still have that issue but minimal compared to lower end VAs. I'd say this TV is kind of mid-lower end so you get results accordingly. IPS panels on the other hand have excellent viewing angles and colours but not as nearly as contrast as these QLED bad boys. So it's all about your budget and priorities. Personally I don't mind a VA panel especially if it's a QLED one as a TV but absolutely won't take one as my monitor which always remains as IPS.

      • IPS TV have other issue like the LG, if you always sit in front of the TV, VA panel is better.

      • Cheers for the info. It was an Eko QLED (so about as cheap as it gets). It looked amazing for a cheapy, but then went to read the specs on the box. Only slightly off angle and the screen almost looked like a negative image. Real bad. The non QLED version didn't have this issue. I'll try and have a suss of the higher end QLEDs. I have my TV wall mounted reasonably high. One couch in front, one to the side. So the side couch might be an issue.

        • As I said, it's not a QLED issue, it's a VA issue. Even with most expensive QLED models (which will cost you more than 4-5K for this screen size) those who sits on your side couch will have same issue (albeit less than cheap models). So everyone may want to avoid the side couch when watching TV lol. If your room isn't too bright or doesn't have open windows towards the TV, then I'd suggest you go with an LG nanocell TV (which are mostly IPS) you will be pleasantly surprised. But they are not as bright as QLED and isn't as contrasty either (that's why I asked whether your room is well lit or not). When your room is tight and side couch is something you can't avoid, then you basically have to give up on VA panels because unless you sit in front of the TV, you'd always see the difference.

          • @npnp: Ah ok. Cheers for clarifying.

So VA panel - good contrast, poor angles.

IPS - good viewing angles, but average contrast and not good enough for a QLED filter.

            Nanocell - somewhere in between..

Room is bright, but don't watch much TV during the day. Current Panasonic back light setting is 3 (out of 100), and that's fine.

  • I have a 55" OLED from 2019 (entry level OLED, was $1200). But looking for a bigger size TV without breaking the bank. Is the Q60A worth it Or picture quality much lower than the OLED.
