When Auto mode is selected, the machine monitors the air quality in the room and when needed turns itself on automatically. The bladeless design of the unit not only pleases the eye, but also makes it easy to clean and safe to use around children and pets. It can be operated with a remote control unit or the Dyson Link app for iOS and Android.

Buy eBay gc from shopback for another $12 off

  • I was planning to buy the hp07, which is currently out of stock pretty much everywhere. What is the difference between this model and the hp07? Just an older model?

    • +4

Hp07 removes formaldehyde. No idea what it is but I want all of it gone!

      • Is only the hp09 with the formaldehyde remove functionality.

        • Oh you are right!

    • HP07 has a bigger "fan" area, but it has a screen onboard too, which is useful. This is app-only
Agree with other comments that the app and the thermostat are what make it special.

    • I own a couple of HP07 purifier Hot+Cold.
It is quite good, and efficiently heats a room. Can control using Dyson Link app, which allows you to monitor air quality, the filter life and the performance of the purifier, and also you can define the arc you want the air flow direction in.
Filters out 0.1 micron so potentially can help reduce airborne contaminants including viruses in a home or confined space. ( Not kill, but remove).

      Edit:
      Pretty much useless for cooling.
An evaporative cooler or AC is better.

As a current owner of this, I am not sure about the filter, but the hot and cool function is pretty useless. Any fans or heaters would do a better job than this.

    • +2

Reading some reviews and it's common concensus. Thanks for sharing!

Have a non filter version and its the best space heater I ever owned. Thermostat is second to none.

    • +3

it's strength is in the IoT part, not on the fan or heater mode unfortunately. i have a bunch of earlier gens of these fans.

it's great in the short term if you have really curious young kids. downside is that, out of warranty, they cost a lot to repair officially if you go via their service centres. $180 just to look at the problem.

i stopped buying dysons because you need to change the filters for these or it'll impact the performance.
Removing the filters and running without will make it all gunk up.

and they refuse to do 'bulk' discounts even if i offer to buy more (10 or more) replacement filters at one go (they told me the price will still be at $99 /set), which is utter BS.

edit: i know about 'oem' ones, which are a hit and miss… the prices have ramped up since covid started to almost 60% of original… still not a great price point.

I agree. The filter is so expensive that making this hp03 not worth it.
The old good thing about it is it is pretty safe to kids. But the cleaning of this fan is so difficult. The little holes around the body are full of dusts in 2 weeks time.

        • It's the kids + ability to check it remotely and control it via app which make it great for my use case. Had a cheaper Ceramic heater fan (no purification) and my toddler stuck her finger in there :(

  • i only got it down to $599. How do you get $399?

    back in stock

    • Thanks, updated.

  • It's still in stock. Just bought one.

  • Do these use much power?

  • What's the return policy like if we find it doesn't heat well enough for us.

    • I have the older AM09 model and it heats our living area well. It's been far better than any other element heater I've owned, it's going into it's 4th winter now as the primary heater.

      • How often do you need to change a filter ?

        • No filter on my one, the static collects the dust around the inlet at the bottom and it just needs brushing off time to time

        • Bought the HP04 in April last year, and the filter is needing replacing now with daily and overnight bedroom use for purifying and fairly regular heating winter and air circulation in summer. It's proven to be a good unit overall for a bedroom and haven't seen electricity skyrocket. I recall my initial research concluded electricity would cost 6 cents per hour for low fan level purifying. My only real gripe is that it's noisy when the heating automatically turns on and it drowns out the TV.

  • I'm spewing that I bought one not long ago :'( I actually really like ours and have multiple HP03s.

  • Hope it comes back stock!

        • damn, missed out again :'(

        • Back in stock again.

  • Just took it with me to the pub. Kept me warm on the bench whilst I was enjoying my meal outside.

    It's back in stock!

    • Thanks, updated.

  • Does it work if you dont replace the filter when it asks you too? If not, are there any third party filters you can use?

    • +2

There's no electronics in the filter. It's just a timer thing.
I just vacuum it with my Dyson V7 once every few months. It doesn't seem like it will ever need replacing.

      • Good to know… was worried about the on-going costs of the filter.

I've had a ceramic blowy heater which did the job, but my newly adopted daughter (kitten) didn't like the noise and when she gallops from one end of the house to the other, almost knocks it over, so i'm hoping the Dyson's more to her liking and is a lot safer. Probably way more stylish than the crappy Goldair I got from the Masters closing down sale too (i'm surprised it still works).

    using it now, like it.

      • But no $200 off anymore?

        • You just missed it. Can confirm it was $200 off with code ~15min ago.

          • @RichardL: The $200 coupon I mean with PLUSDYSO

            • @jace88: Yep, can confirm the code was working ~15min ago (Saw "Save AU $200.00 on this item")

Still showing on the eBay Deals Page too.

              • @RichardL: I'm so sad I missed out again. I really gotta stop going to work so I can focus on OzB!

                • @jace88: Still available there.

                  • @zozuc: Code doesn't work any more :o(

Unless i'm doing something wrong? :o/

                    • +1

@Graffin: Sorry mate, I already used this code thus do not know about it.

                      • @zozuc: Yeah, i'm getting the code has already been used, but was trying to snag another one on my partner's account that's got a free eBay Plus trial on it. Seems the $50 off code is the only one that works now unfortunately.

                        Great lil unit though!

                        • @Graffin: I see code is no longer available. Oh well. They also removed the picture which had the $399 price in it.

  • For those interested, I ordered on 24th Aug, received on the 30th. Thanks Dyson and OP :)
