Free Turning Peel & Cover with Purchase of a Gozney Roccbox Pizza Oven $799 Shipped @ Gozney

130

Gozney is including a free turning peel and cover with the Roccbox until September 4th as part of their Father's Day sale.

AFAIK these don't go on sale very often, I think it's usually only twice a year or so.

There's also up to 20% off all Roccbox accessories as well.

Everything you need to get started:

Portable stone floored pizza oven
Professional grade pizza peel (worth $89)
Detachable gas burner featuring an LCC27 appliance connection (new in Australia as of 2021).
Bottle opener
Manual

Pizza Peel description
Designed specifically for use in Roccbox. The Roccbox Pizza Peel is a professional grade, lightweight peel for the placement of dough and cooking trays in and out of Roccbox. Made from aluminium with a hard anodised finish, this peel is designed exactly the same as larger, commercial use pizza peels.

Tapered on one edge for easy access beneath baked goods or pans, the Roccbox Pizza Peel includes perforations to enable excess flour to fall away when making fresh pizza. The perforations also assist in allowing steam to escape from cooked baked goods, resulting in a crispier base. The non-stick surface is perfect for smooth transition between the peel's surface and the hot stone floor.

305mm x 360mm head dimensions and 125mm handle.

Pizza Oven Cover description

Protect your oven from the elements with the Roccbox cover.

Constructed from double-lined, 900D polyester waterproof material the cover will keep off rain, snow, wind and sunlight during storage.

Featuring front and rear drawstrings and incorporating a heavy duty strap the Roccbox Cover doubles up as a carry handle, for ease of transport.

You can get 5% off ($40) as well when enter email address for referral.

      • dont think it stacks though. I bought one this morning and didnt use the referral as i was worried about stacking..

        • looks like it… so 7% cashback in couple of month (guess not inc GST ~$51) or instant 5% off $40.

  • Literally just received my Ooni Koda 12! Is this worth the additional $300?

    • or $450 more than the knock off? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718993

I'm leaning towards the knock off myself.

      • +2

I bought the BBQ Galore one (clone) and very happy with it net cost $315 when used the 10% deal of gift card. It is identical to the Koda 12 but its flame control knob placed at the side, so better than the rear (Koda 12). The RB comes with free quality metal peel, turning peel, oven cover for ~$750. But few pizza pop up business use it, as it's better built than Koda and the Clone, as thicker insulation, thicker stone (so better recovery time between pizza), innovative flame that goes up. So it depends on how much you want to pay, both are great deals, but the Clone is outstanding value.

      • I had the knock off and it's not as good as the Ooni and not worth the saving imo.

        • Which Ooni do you have, and what would you say are the main differences that make it worth the extra?

          • +1

@caprimulgus: The knock off would burn the pizza, especially at the side closest to the flame and I couldn't solve that issue.

I've got the Ooni 12 sorted, I know when to turn to avoid burning the back.

The Ooni 16 is better again but not worth the extra so I sold it.

I've got a second Ooni 12 that I've modified with a circular turning stone. This is my favourite.

            • @[Deactivated]: Interesting - could be the angle on the flame is different at the back? (Maybe it curves too close to the crust on the Arrosto, and more domed away from the crust on the Ooni?)

Modified turning stone sounds great! Do you have any photos / link to the mod you've done?

              • @caprimulgus: If you search on facebook for a group called Ooni Hack, the admin Zhaohui Wang is Chinese seller who sells the rotating device with motor, you need to buy the circular stone yourself.

                • @huntabargain: I don't use Facebook unfortunately.

            • @[Deactivated]: So you don't burn the pizza in the Koda 12 because you using the rotating device!
I used the Arrosto for few months and certainly there is a learning curve, burnet slightly the rear edge in the beginning, but now worked out the process to get leopard crust perfectly with crunchy cooked base.

You should watch this Video to learn how to use the Oven, Pizza looks perfect to me.. Pizza in Arrosto

              • @huntabargain: Even before the rotation during cooking I didn't have a problem getting perfect results with the Ooni 12.

I just have a circular stone, I drilled a roughly 10mm hole in the sheet metal in the bottom and inserted a steel rod and turn in manually. All up the mods were $15 including the stone.

I turn it very slowly and it makes a full turn before I remove the cooked pizza.
It's (ability to turn) also beneficial for heating the stone, I heat it for 15-20 minutes then turn it 180 and another 10-15 minutes before making the first pizza.

                • @[Deactivated]: Am I missing something, so you removed the square stone and placed circular one resting on ~8mm rod?
Doesn't the rod get extremely hot to touch, let alone not sure how the stone sit on it and how to actually rotate the rod.

                  • @huntabargain: No, it does get hot at all, the bottom of the rod rests on the bench underneath and I just turn it (and the stone) a quarter revolution every 15 seconds or so.

    • where did you get it for 500?

    • No. I've had both.

    • KODA 12 currently on sale on Amazon $487 delivered. Just ordered one

      • Do you have a link to this? I can't seem to find it?

          • @punkel: Thanks! This makes it a tough decision now - wondering if the RB is worth the extra.

            • @rfc850: Probably not. Ooni makes great pizza. I watched some reviews on YouTube and the difference isn't massive. RB is heavier and stone can't be removed

              • @punkel: Damn, looks like the Ooni 12 is sold out :-(

      • This is back in stock for anyone interested.

        • you finally managed to get it :D

  • +1

I have one and I love it. It's expensive but honestly worth every penny.

I take with me everywhere, mates house, camping trips and it's awesome.

  • Has anyone tried the Dome? Keen for some feedback

    • +1

Multi fuel / gas always on waiting list for $2500. It's a beast though. Heard of few people getting cracked stone after a while at the corner of the stone (guess due to the sharp corners).

      • Thanks for the advice

    • +1

Yep, got the dual fuel one - absolutely brilliant. Few issues with finish (some joins out of alignment), and a hairline crack on the stone base, but nothing that doesn't stop making great pizza.
They've been very late in releasing the extra accessories though, but apparently they are out in the next few weeks.
Amazing turning out wood fired pizza in < 60 seconds with perfect base and nice cooking and charing on top. We've found a hard spelt flour does the most amazing base (dried bakers yeast being lazy..!). Can't wait for nicer weather - and so we can start using it more (not the I couldn't use it in winter anyway…)

      • Cheers thanks for the info, seems like the way to go.

  • I own a ooni karu 12, best buy ever. I use wood branches 1 inch thick. It cook the pizas between 1 and 1:30 minutes.

  • Anyone else have the deal disappear on them? Seems like removed it.

    • Yep, looks like it's gone, I shouldn't have waited. It did say until 4th September, bit of a bad taste.

The turning peel is also sold out.

      • Oh well, no RB, Koda 12, Dome for me then, only offer still there is the Koda 16 for $939, which I would have bought if did not buy Arrosto few months ago. !! Better save my $$ for a while.

        • How did you find the Arrosto? I was tempted but it's really not that much cheaper than the Koda 12 when on sale.

          • @rfc850: I cant compare it to Koda 12 as didn't try it. But on paper it tick all the boxes, can't see much difference in specs, apart its gas dial knob is better placed on the side for easy access. As its nominal 12" size oven, you need to pay attention if cooking large pizza so you don't burn edge next to flame, but that would still apply to the Koda 12. Once you practice (dough, flame management), you would get amazing pizzas. Koda 16 is larger so would be easier to manage the flame. I also seen reviews of Karu 16 with optional gas burner and it is outstanding oven. Was considering put mine on market place for $300 and buy the larger oven.

  • anyone got it delivered or have a tracking number?

I'm sceptical i'm getting it for father's day.

    • +1

ive got a tracking. I ordered Monday last week. Got a tracking number late Monday this week. Expected to arrive Monday next week. So basically from order to on my doorstep (if it arrives) - 2 weeks. Im in Perth

    • Well not getting it for father's day :(

  • I ended up placing order for Koda 16 for $939 delivered, was tossing between the Koda 16 and Karu 16 for $1,292 inc delivery plus $200 optional gas burner. I think the Karu 16 was slightly better oven (but was too bulky 850mm deep and location of gas knob very awkward to reach at rear and could not justify the additional $555
