Any suggestions for adults who can't balance like myself?

Get 5 of these and join them together

If that's a serious question I can't see why you can't get a bike that's the right size for you and just lower the seat until the works the same as a balance bike (so that your feet can touch the ground when you're sitting on the seat).

      • The pedals are usually easy to remove, using a spanner. Your shins will thank you for taking the pedals off!

    • Commenting to follow this thread as I’d also like to learn to ride an actual bike without axing myself

If I had to learn again, I'd make sure I had elbow protection, and I'd wear gardening gloves or similar. You will put your hands out when you inevitably fall over, the gloves and elbow protectors should save you from most cuts and grazes.

Knee protectors are perhaps overkill, jeans are probably sufficient. Trouser legs getting tangled in the gears is a lesson you can avoid, if you always remember to tuck both trouser legs into your socks. And don't forget a helmet!

😔 Why should kids have all the fun

Try riding a balance bike when you are 5- 6 foot tall. Good luck, that should be fun

      • You can. I’ve ridden this one. It’s fun. Slight down hills is best. You do get a bit tangled up in legs if trying to get going on the flat.

  • Keep an eye on fb marketplace and you'll find good deals on good quality balance bikes and kids bikes. Sometimes ppl give them away too.

    • heaps of shitter bikes on council cleanup

      • Yeah, I just picked up the other day for when my son graduates from a balance to a pedal bike, just needs a wash and lube.

  • I got one last time cheap. The handle bars and seat move all the time even through they are tightened up
