  • Great deal.

How long is your price protection for?

    • +1

Up to $600 per item, max $2,000 total per 12 months

With tv depreciation, price protection is worth it over 12 months

      • +1

Also note that price protection can be used as many times as you want within 24 months of purchase.

      • +1

yep..as per above. I was lucky and got on board with it just before they wised up and shut it down ( the price protection option). So good.

      • The Coles MasterCard no longer offers price protection. Are there any other decent credit cards that offer the same thing?

  • +1

How did people go with that free hisense 75in TV with the phone deal a few months back?

    • +4

(signed up just so I could reply to your post.)

The ‘free’ TV was a Hisense a7hau non Oled version. It is fantastic! Every time we load up a 4K YouTube video, I sit there floored.
Colours and clarity are great! Brightness and blacks are also.
We have a Hisense r5, Sony x7000d and a Sony x8000h and the Hisense wipes the floor with them.
We use the tv in our main loungeroom and really appreciate the size and better viewing angle than the Hisense r5 it replaced.
We are looking at replacing the 7000d now with another Hisense. Probably the u7hau. If the a7hau had hdmi 2.1 ports we would get another in an instant. Highly recommend. Glad we took a chance on the deal. We have it paired with a Panasonic ub830 4K player from another ozbargain deal. A real pleasure to watch.

      • +2

Always good to hear a resoundingly positive review from an OzBargainer appreciative of their bargain!

      • Wow sounds like one of the deals of the year! Thx for the reply

  • +5

Tempted by this and tempted by the Samsung QLED 75” for $1488 but then also tempted by the Sony A9G 77” for $3.8K (I don’t game so lack of HDMI2.1 doesn’t bother me) too many options ahh

    • +5

Get the OLED if you hold onto it for 5-10 years the money difference is worth it In the long run

    • +4

Can you please provide the link of Samsung QLED 75 for $1488?

      • +1

        Here you go!

I’m in WA so the link may not work for you if you’re in a different state that has no stock of the TV

        • Blerg, no stock in WA - you got me all excited!

    • Can i get the link for the qled 75’ for 1455, cant seem find it

  • +1

If you're looking at reviews keep this in mind.
    What flashi007 said below v

  • +24

Steer clear of Hisense. They name their tvs the same as US models but have fewer features in Australia. People check out reviews from the US and assume they are the same model but aren’t. Terrible business practice which is deceitful. They are as bad as Harvey Norman.

    • Fewer features how about some examples

      • +25

Got this from a review on jbhifi site

"This TV does not have HDMI 2.1 like the US model does
This TV does not have 1500 nits of peak brightness like the US model Does
This TV does not have Android TV like the US model does (no Disney +)
This TV can not do VRR @ 120 FPS like the US model can."

        • +10

Wow thats a huge amount of downgrades lol

        • Except for the the HDMI and Android TV I don’t even understand the other 2?

          • +13

@bobwokeup: Then this is the TV for you lol

          • +1

@bobwokeup: VRR = Variable Refresh Rate. More for gaming. 1500 nits avoid dark corners on screen, HDR pops more and it's great for hangovers.

          Mate it's $1000…

Oh yes I'll have the Ferrari for the cost of a Camry…

          Typical ozbargainer….

        • +1

@Bruceflix Hisense does have Disney+. You can't believe everything you cut and paste.
I'm really happy with my Hisense. Have never regretted buying it.

        • If they actually read the description and checked the specs from the JB site, they would know they didn't have these features to begin with.

They deserve what ever misery they brought on themselves if you ask me.

          • @pufffdragon: Well, that is also true but I don't think a company should be rewarded for dumping lower specd goods on the Aus market simply because we'll buy it anyway.

          • @pufffdragon: You might be right, but what possible reason would Hisense have to use the same model name other than being deceptive?

            • @soymeat: I really don't know mate. I can see how it is deceptive using the same model number as the US models and people would automatically buy without checking based on that. Maybe Scomo is the minister of electronics now. Double deception.

If I bought a TV and it didn't have the features that were advertised on their site, I would be asking for a refund that's for sure.

        • Reminds me of office works lol

        • -1

This is stuff that doesn't matter to 90% of people. See 'pugsandguitars' comment above for how most people would view these products.

        • That's absolutely garbage from Hisense. I don't understand how they could justify using the same model name, given the drastic differences, other than trying to be deceitful.

One less brand for me to even look at for electronics in future - thanks for making it an easy decision, Hisense, I guess.

    • +6

Wouldn't touch a Hisense after they started using their own dog shit panels. Far better off with a TCL.

      • +1

do you or have you owned a Hisense tv, don't assune if you haven't. I own a Hisense 65" for some time now.Quite happy with it, on par mot panels except OLED

        • +1

Yep, 55M7000 when they used SDC ;)

          • +1

@Maths Debater: Ah Is that why no matter which Hisense Iv used since has never looked as good as my old 55m7000. Even my LG C8 doesn't look as good on alot of stuff. I kinda want to go back to it.
C8 is great but really doesn't ever give that 3d look the hisense gave.

          • @Maths Debater: You ever have any issues with your 55M7000UWG? I have had the same TV since 2017 and it always served me well, but last year when I retired it to the bedroom in place of an LG C1, it has since thrown a tantrum and decides to have coloured lines running horizontally through the screen when it the night is cold until after 20 minutes it starts to clear up and goes back to a perfect image. As of the last few weeks it has also just decided to display an image for the first few seconds upon booting up, only to fade to black.

  • No ARC support though.

    • -2

If you mean controlling your soundbar volume through the TV remote then my Hisense has this. It's a couple of years old

    • I've got this exact TV, it has ARC and eARC. I use it.

  • +3

Not sure why the hate, this is the best you're going to get unless you pay 1800 for a sony. I also got it from costco, cracker deal at 1400 and this is amazing. Highly recommend held up well, I use apple tv and it is flawless.

TCL C835's and C735's are a better value

      • +6

        Where’s a 65” C835 for $1k?

        • still a better value

      • +2

Wow, colour me impressed a $2000 tv is better than an insane deal for $1000.

        • -1

          I said value… i didn't say cheaper…

  • -2

Just saw 75 inch $988 at JB , same brand

  • Anyone have any experience with the newer u7hau range? Seems to have HDMI2.1 which this is lacking.

    • I’m curious about this too… I’m looking for a budget but decent 75” with HDMI 2.1 and VRR for gaming

  • +2

I've had this TV for about a year now (only the 55" though) and it does its job, but has the 'venetian blind effect' due to the way it is backlit. I also couldn't figure out how to get HDR content to look good without blowing out the image.

In saying that, the TV is still a decent all round TV.

Recently upgraded to the OLED C2, which is obviously quite a big improvement, BUT to my ears, the Hisense has the better in-built speaker. The sound on this TV is honestly my favourite thing about it, but I rarely see anyone mention it.

    • Sounds like you might have had a faulty panel.

      • I mean, maybe. But I'm also the only person who consistently notices it. It doesn't ruin the experience until you notice it and even then it's quite easy to ignore.

  • It's only available for c+c in 2 Jbhifi stores and they are both in Perth. Maybe a different retailer will price match?

    • Which 2 stores?

      Nvm, didn’t read properly 🤦‍♂️

  • What is physically different on the TV between Dolby Vision and HDR.

Also, can a Dolby Vision TV support HDR content as well?

I can see Dolby Vision TVs use more power, but not sure why?

    • HDR sets the picture quality for the whole movie at the beginning of the movie. Dolby Vision adjusts the picture every scene so you get the optimal brightness, colour etc. for each scene. Yes, if the TV can do Dolby Vision it will do ordinary HDR. The only reason I can think of that it uses more power, might be the processing of the picture, but I'm grasping at straws with that idea.

      • It uses more power because small areas of highlights can be driven brighter than standard with with hdr. Until you start overheating the panel/unit.

It's why the "spot brightness" versus the "full screen brightness" can vary significantly. Reviews now often measure peak brightness at a few percentage coverage levels.

        • Yeah, I figure the brighter max would result in a higher energy usage.

But if you are watching normal content, then the reality is a non Dolby TV would use the same energy as a Dolby TV.

So Dolby Vision is purely colour and contrast, nothing to do with refresh rates, smoothness of motion, scaling?

What about H265 decoding. Is that a standard built in feature these days? and the ole chuck in a SD card and record TV?

  • I have the Q8 which is almost identical to this model (2020 vs 2021). It is an amazing TV. Far more brighter and better sound and HDR than my Sony 9500 series that I bought around the same time. Motion issue has been resolved with firmware updates and it gets really bright (probably very close to 1400 - 1500 nits.

    • I've heard the Q8 is better than this tv

      • I've had a 65Q8 for a few years now. Been fantastic! Love the bright crisp picture!

  • What's the difference between U7G and U8G models?

  • Sound setting choices can make a huge difference to how you hear, I am pretty hard of hearing, but selecting certain modes like sport, movie, night or clear voice makes a real difference, worth a look to play around to suit your own ear.

  • Their UI Vidaa is rubbish. It doesn't have many apps.

  • Have both TCL (3) and Telstra 75 inch Hisense deal. The Hisense is very good for an entry level tv. No adjustments to picture straight out of the box.
New 43 inch TCL P 725 failed after 25 hours. New motherboard repair took 4 weeks and numerous calls, texts and emails to TCL and service repair company. Lip synch on a TCL 65 P 725 after android update is abysmal.

    • How after a TV dies after 25 hours usage is that a repair instead of a refund/replacement. Know your rights!

  • U7g slightly better in power consumption
Anyways you can redeem this deal in store or at any jb-hi-fi in store, it's just they'll be doing stock clearance with the display models. (hell you may get a better deal updating the sku# with a 30% discount, that's how the deals on jb-hi -fi website on final clearance usually appear, a customer requests to buy and the employee updates the sku to a new reduced price)

    https://youtu.be/0X9yXRLd-iU

Overall you can't go wrong with either TV, but their slightly better then the u9g.

If we compare the USA version then these versions would be obvious on fact.

Based on the TCL series 6, it looks great but the os's sluggish from the reviews.
TCL series 6 version stands no chance Vs the u7g-u8g in the price range.
