This seems to be a fine price on what is almost definitely the best bluetooth DAC AMP on the market. Super small form factor, Adaptive EQ in the phone app and as a chrome extension and I haven't seen any negative reviews across youtubers, r/headphones, head-fi.org etc. since its release. It seems to best the Fiio BTR5 in almost every way, while being cheaper, smaller and lighter. Definitely picking one up just so I can recommend it to other people.

Buying it from the official store is $134 USD ($192 AUD) and buying it from the Amazon US website is around $194 AUD. I was waiting for the Amazon AU price to drop so there's no international transaction fees, and this is the lowest I've seen it from Amazon AU in a while.

Edit: It was originally $188.91 but the price just went up a bit

I have this. The sound quality does not meet my expectations. Design is good though. Comparing to iPhone, I judge the sound from iPhone dongle is better. Honestly I used twice and now it is collecting dust on my desk.
I have many Equipment including amps, headphones,DACs etc. My suggestion to most people:Stick with your iPhone.

    • Can I buy yours?

    • I have this and its fantastic. So many more features compared to my fiio btrk3 and more stable too (no random disconnections and mic issues).

Its also made in korea if that matters to you.

    • have you tried plugging it in directly with the phone ? It produces much better sound quality compared to bluetooth mode
@op: this is regular price, not really a sale. You can get it at the same price from the official store. Amazon price before the sale is ridiculous

I smell BS. These can output 4v, you shouldn't be having any issues with power whatsoever.

I don’t think it’s surprising that a wired solution (Apple dongle) sounded better than a Bluetooth DAC, especially with an iPhone where you’re stuck with AAC, as opposed to Android where you can use the much higher quality LDAC codec. Unless you were comparing the Qudelix 5K in wired mode with your iPhone?

The situation changes if you’re wanting to push more demanding headphones though. Apple dongle does a stellar job for what it is, but it’s not sufficient for some.

  • In regards to the sound quality, I think bluetooth mode has about the same or slightly worse sound quality compared to iPhone dongle. wired mode makes a big difference though, it's on par with my desktop amp.
BTR5 and Qudelix 5k are pretty much the best bluetooth dongle for the money. They have the same sound quality tbh, go for BTR5 if you prefer better build quality & aesthetic, go for 5k for better customization (the Qudelix app is 10x better than Fiio)

    • Qudelix is the only option if you want AptX Adaptive

    • BTR7 is on pre order right now FYI.

Man I paid 111 USD delivered from Amazon US in 2020. Price has shot up quite a bit even in USD and then currently poor exchange rate to USD.

Xd05 basic is available for $200, it's portable-ish half a watt power. Would do most headphones "justice"

I've got the es100 already, don't think this would be worth it

    • I was waiting for someone to mention the es100, brilliant piece of equipment for the price. Battery lasts forever on it too

  • Any deals going round for iFi Go Blu or BTR7? Thanks.

Take this with a grain of salt but I bought the ifi go blue a month or so ago. I replaced my fiio btr5 first gen with it. And I had nothing but connection issues with Bluetooth with the go blu. Maybe I got a faulty unit but man I couldn't even have my phone in my pocket and not have issues. When going for a walk I had to have the go blu in my hand on the same side of my body as my phone. And even then if I wrapped my hand around the go blu I'd lose connection. So long story short I returned it and got the 2021 btr5 and it's perfect! Great build quality and it's rock solid. I have been eyeing off the BTR7 though. :). I'm only using the Sennheiser hd560s though so don't really need anymore power.
