Haha that fallout 1st subscription is hilarious.

Do they have a community that makes this game playable now?

    • Not worth the $23 p/m for the privilege of playing on private servers IMO.
Bethesda is constantly improving the game and extending it. Not sure about the community as I haven't played much of it yet.

      • It’s on game pass and I started playing recently, it’s a brilliant game so far. There’s not too many people per server, but you see them about. Always requests for group quests going out.

Not going to subscribe to their silly subscription though.

        • The main campaign is really boring TBH. Heaps of mindless fetch quests and pointless interactions with some annoying NPCs. Lots and lots of walking around the map to get from point A to point B (fast travel definitely helps here, when available). Constantly getting interrupted with public events and other activities happening in the environment which is detracting from the sense of immersion. Crafting and repairing weapons can be a real drag too. The increasing monetisation of the in-game store and Fallout 1st subs is definitely apparent. I'm somewhat in two minds about this game so far. Definitely prefer the SP Fallout titles of yesteryear.

It's coming up as $11.68 on GMG. May be better if you don't need to use steam credit. Steel Dawn Deluxe is $21.24.

Played it on a free weekend recently. It is a significantly improved game from launch, no question. However, it still feels a bit empty and soulless.

I'm a huge fallout fan, won't touch this with 10ft piece of rebarb.

    • You wouldn't even try it if you had Game Pass? I have it on my "Play Later" list, but always keeps getting pushed to the back haha.

I love Fallout, but when you don't hear many good things about something, you tend to steer clear.

I'm glad they're still working on it. But are they still "fixing" it, or is it now fixed, and they're "extending it's life". If the latter, then kudos to them, because not many would still be working on a dead product.

    • I can see what you mean. I expected more from Bethesda and adore the Fallout franchise. If you want to play it as a single player journey it's hard to recommend as it's a mediocre RPG at best. See my mini review above, based on about 5 hours of play time via gamepass.
