    You need more caps.

  • Good deal compared to Telstra direct.

    • Not worth it.

Whats everyones experience in getting $X/month discount on the $49 plan?

    • +1

I’m pretty convinced no further discount is possible on jb hifi/good guys plans. I was told telstra agents literally don’t have a way to apply monthly credit on these plans. They can only do it as a one-off.

    12 MONTHS plan is nice

Currently with Telstra. What’s the best way to hop onto this deal without losing my mobile number?

    • +10

Please note that these are Data-only plans (for tablets etc) - probably not suitable for porting your mobile (depends on what you do with it - could be a secondary data plan)

      • +14

Ahh, totally missed that. Thanks for pointing that out. Was probably just overwhelmed with OP shouting at me ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I suppose, if this were a mobile phone plan, what would be the best recourse for porting out and back in again?

I’m currently on the $65 pm plan with Telstra and feel like I’m paying way too much. After a cheaper 5G compatible deal or happy to sign up with incentives (such as current one - if it were a mobile phone plan).

        • Cancel your current contract, port out your number to Optus/Vodafone for 30 days and after that time, port in back to Telstra.

          • @kazuyamishima: Is there a quicker way to do that or is 30 day wait the minimum amount of time to port back in? Hoping for another telstra port in/sign up incentive in the coming weeks.

            • +1

@A female dog: That's the minimum, and it has to be with a different telco than Telstra.

The 4 times I've done these type of deals, they all checked If I had more than 30 days with another Telco before porting in.

P.D: I've read the plans, and yes, like someone mentioned above, these are mobile broadband plans and they are really bad.

  • no international call?

    • +13

Well to be fair it won't have local calls aswell. It's a data plan.

      • +2

lol..i thought is mobile phone plan.. thanks for pointing it out

  • Does Telstra still do 10 dollar port in discount via chat?

  • +2

    Please don't shout.

    • +2

      Ctrl + V the post. I don't normally

  • is esim available on these jb hifi telstra plans?

    • Yes

  • Can we get the additional e-sim to be used for Galaxy Watch 4 ?

DATA PLAN DATA PLAN DATA PLAN (no calls/texts people)

Great deal, providing you have an intended purchase to spend those short expiry gift cards on.

  • +1

used to be $69pm + $500 Gift Card (12 Month Plan)

    • +1

      These are Mobile Broadband plans.

      • ahh yes i see now. my bad

        thanks for pointing it out

      • Aren’t phone plans more expensive usually since they include calls and texts on top of the data?!

  • +9

I WAS EXCITED UNTIL I SAW IT WAS DATA PLAN ONLY

  • Interesting that JB Hifi don't list any 5G modems, like the Nighthawk M6 Pro, etc.

  • +3

This is the worst deal so far this year

  • +1

    Network in title?

  • -1

Calls and SMS are not included in the monthly fee and cost extra. in effect, it may cost a lot more, depending on your habits.

  • +1

$28p/m after deducting the GC from the cost for 60gb P/m..
Could be good value if it included cellular services, but for $11 more P/m you can get 200gb and unlimited calls/SMS with Vodafone…not that I endorse their network, I have a lot of patchy service areas on my way to/from work

  • +2

data plan… dammit got excited for nothing.

  • who buys data plans!!!!

    • +1

Me. I have a work phone and all I want is data for emails and teams.

Calls done via Telegram, FaceTime etc.

  • Mobile Broadband plan, not a sim only.

  • Worth a look if double the data otherwise, pass

  • just in case if you are not aware, 5g home broadband doesn't support forwarding, so if you have any services at home that rely on port forwarding, it won't work

  • The 24m $69pm 200GB plan hardly seems like a deal given an extra $16pm will get you 400GB with no contract. You don't get the $500 gift card though.

  • +1

I must be missing how this is value.. a measly 60GB for $49 wtaf? Approaching a buck a gig, wow.

A half decent 5G connection would burn that junk up in under 20 minutes.

Edit: also you can't try and justify it by deducting the GC to bring it down to 47c/GB because in reality you are still paying the full $49/pm. The GC is just you forced to buy something from JB that you probably wouldn't have otherwise bought.

  • I'm currently with Telstra - 400GB 5G mobile broadband with the M5 Netgear. I'm not sure what sort of broadband unit will come with this deal but it's likely an M2-

It's pretty decent- I still get the occasional dropouts, but I get to take it with me to uni and work

    • No modem at all. That's what makes the deal so poor.
