Hush Puppies Wisconsin Boots $103.99 Delivered (RRP $199) @ Amazon AU

310

I've been keeping an eye out for a new pair of boots for work. I've had my eye on these for a while but was waiting for them to come down in price. I just checked and and was pleasantly surprised.

RRP is $199, but they've been sitting at around $150 (depending on the size) for a while.

Don't forget 5.5% cashback with SB/CR.

Ahh yeah, I forgot to mention the cashback. I checked out through CR for 5.5% as well. I'll add it to the description now.

        • Nothing yet actually. It's normally a lot quicker than this.

    Got a pair. Thanks OP.

  • Reviews suggest that one should go a size down. Does anyone know if a whole size down is OK, or just half a size? Tia

    • +1

Yes, I purchased a pair of shoes from hush puppies recently and can confirm a size down (or half to be safe) would have fit me better.

I'm usually a 10.5 EE, I bought a very similar pair of hush puppies in 10 EE, I initially thought they were too tight but they are a pretty much perfect fit after wearing them a few times.

Only thing is that my toes are squished (design problem) and the ball of my foot hurts sometimes after wearing them all day.

      All sizes in US

    Same, thanks OP

  • Not all sizes are the same price FYI

  • Looks like only 11.5, 13 and 14 are left at this price and available. Missed out on this one!

Hmm bargain price would be 60. At this price, you will be better off with RMs

    • +2

… Where are you seeing RMs at 100 dollars? I don't think I've ever seen then below 400 in recent years

      • Pay more now for a longer lasting shoe.

I used to spend $100-$200 on work shoes every year. The reason I'd do that is because they just wouldn't last or they would become really uncomfortable.

I'd rather fork out $400 ( RM sale) for a shoe that will last years and are really versatile. In the long run you are better off. Just need to do the maintenance on them.

        • +2

Sure. I wear RMs myself for the same reasons. That doesn't mean recommending a 400-600 dollar boot when the post is for a 100 dollar boot is necessarily helpful.

@tofuofdoom: If you an afford to spend 100 dollars on HPs, you can afford to spend 400 on goodyear welts

            • +3

@mlburnian: I fundamentally disagree. In any case, 400 was me lowballing it. Looking at oz bargain history, with the exception of a single outlier, the sales price of RM williams is in the 470 range.

Nearly 500 dollars is a lot of money. It wasn't that long ago where 500 dollars represented my food bill for a month. Everything is more expensive these days, and plenty of people are feeling the pinch. If I was a poor student on the hunt for a new pair of shoes, this wouldn't be a bad purchase. Sure they'll only last a year, but you know what, a year is a year away, and 500 dollars might as well be 5000 dollars for how much I can justify spending that much on shoes.

Like yes. We all know Vimes' boots theory. But if you can't afford the good pair of boots then needs must. For a hundred bucks this ain't bad.

Bought these a few months ago… Poor quality and the so called leather stains super easy …

  • +1

Yeah just get RMs. If be suprised if these shoes last a year.

RMs will last the long run.

  • US 13 has been price jacked to $144

Hush Puppies quality is absolutely trash.

    These are single season boots.

As suggested here, get something better. The poor man pays twice.

    • Nice quote. I like "The rich fool pays for what a poor man does not need"

  • Year 2 of mine now. Very comfortable. Size runs a big big but I always wear an innersole. I expect to get a good few years out of these as I don't wear them all the time. They are not a great quality boot like the Church's but are okay value for Money. I Did not want to RM William because of the horror break in stories. These had about a 3-4 hour break in time.

    • Hey mate what sort of inner sole do you use? Have the same issue 0.5 larger and hurts during longer walks.

      • I can't remember to be honest. I have tried a few. If you have a specific problem like Plantar fasciitis or similar you should search for a specific innersole for that. You can get low, mid and high arch innersoles so what works for me may not work for you.

        • Thanks bud, that makes sense. I'll do a bit more research into it.

  • Still some sizes available for 103.99. Also, there is an extra 20% (1STORDER) off bringing the price down to 83.97
