I was looking at getting an electric cordless mower for a while now. I noticed the price changed yesterday. Not the lowest price ever, but close to it.

72Wh is definitely not enough to mow a lawn or any reasonable size.

"Ideal for mowing lawns up to 600m2" lol

But yeah don't go cheap with electric stuff, it just dies too fast and has no power. I have a 82V Victa with 4Ah batteries, it is better than most the petrol mowers I have used, it is discontinued sadly.

    • Photos on Amazon would indicate otherwise. That guys yard looks pretty big. I'm surprised he doesn't have a mower person 😂😂😂.

Agree with your comments and will drain the battery pretty quick on longish lawn or the mower will keep cutting out.

  • there was a crazy sale on Bosch's gardening products yesterday on Amazon.
At around 4am, I bought a CityMower 18 Cordless Brushless 18V with battery and charger kit for $193.93.
Definitely a steal, should handle my small lawn well enough. :)

    • Miss that deal, unfortunately

Same, might actually get delivered today as well despite the original 1 week delivery date.

Already onto the local depot with Austpost.

Let's hope it's actually the battery version, Amazon description sucks at times. Part number and selection shows batter, but title says no battery.

Same boat here :) Mine is also dispatched with AusPost yesterday evening.

I have noticed that as well. All its descriptions and photos show the battery kit, except the title, and the page is gone now.
That's why I screenshot that page before I purchased.
And there are a few reviews say it does come with a battery kit. so i am not too worry.
If it doesn't, I will contact CS and ask for credit to buy the kit from them.

        • Same here. Seems we are all 4am mower buyers. I also took screenshots as the title concerned me. It should come with a battery as it was a different price to the same model with no battery.

    • Wouldn't an 18v mower be substantially lower powered than this product at double the voltage?

      • The 18V is less powerful but can run for longer. So if you mow regularly or have tidy grass, the lower power will suffice.

It's also less than 2/3 the price

        • Why would it run longer - wouldn't double the wattage run longer on the same tidy grass? Is this based on experience or just thoughts and prayers 😁?

    • Just received mine.
Can confirm it does come with a battery and charger kit.

  • No deal.
I have this since last promo from Amazon. And yes, that was the history low price.
The mower does its job ONLY if you have small lawn. If you happen to have a relatively "big" (more than 200m2) you will need 2nd battery. Unlike the 18V battery, This one uses 36V battery and the only way to get the battery is from Catch and the price is…well, please see yourself…

    • Tried a knock off like this?
      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B096RCM54T/

      • My main concern with (cheap) battery operated mowers that they are mostly underpowered and unable to cut the grass sufficiently and efficiently and they don't get low enough to the ground.

Therefore methinks that one has to spend over 1K to get the equivalent of a petrol mower performance level.

        • Are these concerns based on thinking or experience?

        • It really depends on your lawn. Size, grass type, how even it is, the surface underneath.

I've got a 40v mower if the grass is long, wet, etc it's certainly not as powerful as a petrol one. Yes it does chew thru the batteries. But I've got 4 batteries so that's fine. But I didn't really have much of a choice 12mths ago, it was a $500 battery one or a a $1500 petrol one.

But there are advantages, such as no fuel (i charge up during the day is it's essentially free), less moving parts/no internal combustion engine , so bugger-all maintenance or servicing required. Much less noise (so I could mow at 7am without annoying the neighbours). Its easy to start & much lighter, so even young kids can mow easily.

If you have thick buffalo grass, the ground is a bit boggy/uneven or want to mow less often, then yep petrol is the choice.

    • I have B&D gear (not this mower) and 3rd party batteries. Pretty happy with them.

      • Are these concerns based on thinking or experience?

Experience and been bitten twice and definitely without a doubt am shying away from cheap battery powered mowers from now on.

  • Bad unit don't get

  • What kind of mower do you suggest for 5000m2 lawn? Don’t have money for ride on mower.

    • A couple of goats and a dozen of geese :D
