OCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD - $155 @ CentreCom

120

I know these SSDs from OCZ generally aren't as well received as Crucial ones, but here's some sale prices from CentreCom:
OCZ Vertex 4 128GB - $155, down from $178*.
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB - $129, down from $185*
OCZ Agility 3 120GB - $119.
* Not entirely sure about the previous pricing, as Google cached may be inaccurate

I'm not sure how these compare to the Crucial (or any other) SSDs, but they seem to be fairly well priced.
They are a bit cheaper on Amazon, but if you don't want to have to worry about shipping as much, CentreCom might be a safer bet.

  • Why have the max-writes decreased?!?

    • It's using a different controller. You shouldn't be too concerned though, from what I've read the Sandforce speeds are only really applicable to compressible data while the speeds of the Indilinx in the Vertex 4 are applicable to compressible and incompressible data so they represent a better overall performance 'in the real world'.

    • Yeah he's right, real world results are better. But due to a 300MB/s per channel software limit, it still has the potential for improvements via a future firmware upgrade. But this difference is probably like less then 5%, which is especially insignificant when in regards to a device which operates in milliseconds.

  • Any deals for Vertex 4 256Gb?
