•LINK is a USB DAC & headphone amplifier specially designed for mobile with Type-C. Low power mobile phone decoding chip and headphone amplifier chip are integrated into the device.
•Link conforms to Hi-Res audio standard Support up to 32 bit/384 kHz, DSD256 audio input The reaches to 115 dB, which improves the sound quality of mobile output And also solves the embarrassment that most mobile does not have earphone holes.
•High performance decoding chip, there is an ESS9118EC decoding chip built-in link. compared with ordinary mobile, only 16bit/48khz audio can be decoded, while link supports PCM decoding up to 32bit/384 Khz, and DSD256, which can present more details, truly restore lossless tone quality and enjoy high definition audio.
•Low consumption and macro energy, there is a professional power amplifier built-in link, it will dynamic self-adapting earphone impedance, earplugs to larger ears be easily solved, supporting up to 600Ωhigh resistance headphones.

Sounds like a good price if it can do what it promises it can.
I doubt you’d even know what this is.
Hmmm $50 from aliexpress
What this for?
Better quality audio output than the amplifier built into phones plus headphone jack.
It's possible for a phone built in amplifier to be just as good, but generally not.
Can an average joe tell the differences in a song quality between using this or not?
Possibly, if you have the right source for music and proper earphones/headphones to go with it
Depends on the file you’re using. If you’re listening to a DSD file then you’re definitely going to hear a massive difference.
Why did I get a neg? There is definitely a difference when listening to DSD. I bet the neg came from someone who hasn’t listened to DSD
Absolutely not for the “average Joe”.
If you're using Spotify no. With Tidal, probably.
You can work spotify. You have much bet dynamics and clearer bass
A $14 usb-c DAC that i bought from aliexpress unfortunately outperforms my new poco M4 pro that claims "hi-res audio". So yes average joe can tell difference. But you only realise if you listen to the same song on each device one after the other.
Which one from ali?
Also, what kind of song files i need to download? Flac type? Or Mp3 320kbps enough? Not sure if i can add a link. So description: LXDAC A05 CX31993 USB Type C DAC Headphone Amplifier with 3.5mm Output Audio Interface DAC Audio Adapter Chip Decoding Earphone
I tried it just now with a song on prime music. So don't know what quality that was. But i could hear parts of the song with the adapter that simply were not there at all with the same earphones plugged into the phone.
Double blind test at the absolute same volume? Doubt it. Unless the non-dac system is absolute shite
This!
Not sure why you're negged.
But I highly doubt people can tell the difference with these single chip DACs.
It maybe able to process digital signal at higher bit rate then amplify the sound, and I believe people mistaking higher dB with fuller and richer sound. Also with higher volume, people can hear more detail, duh….
Probably not. Half the time the average Joe will just say whatever has bass maximised sounds best.
I guess if it has stronger maximum bass power.
Can buy a pretty decent usb c dac from aliexpress that does the same thing for about $15.

I use one for my earphones when I don't wanna have to take my Bluetooth dac out with me.
Those are good, but this xDuoo is a DAC+Amp right?
From my experiences most of these usb c dangles are pretty similar depending on the chip on board, not sure how good this one is as I haven't used it personally but I wouldn't expect it to have all that much driving power despite their claims.

That's a review I found that goes somewhat in depth, I only skimmed it real quick but seems to lack the power to do what it claims.
He claims that its similar to a $9 apple dongle in terms of power output.
Probably great for driving earphones or low ohm headphones but would probably struggle really getting the quality out of anything that runs higher than 150 ohm.
These dongles are DAC amps. You can't get any sound out of you don't have an amp…
Old product, try link2021 better output
The Apple USB-C to 3.5mm DAC is $15 delivered from Apple and very highly regarded.
Pretty sure the current phones have really good DACs built into them. Problem however is that they use Bluetooth to transfer that to music. so No matter how good your phone's DAC maybe, if you are using a Bluetooth headset then chances are you are not getting the best resolution since their DACs are quite not up to the spec. This is why you might need one of these.
And This is why I hate Apple's stupid decision (Yes It's a stupid decision made only to make more bluetooth headphone sales and in no way in the name of progress of any kind) to remove the headphone jack.
Apple knows (major) convenience trumps (minor) sound quality for majority of users (and their AAC Bluetooth codec also trumps SBC). For the latter they offer a $15 dongle.
So, they absolutely did the right thing. Hopefully, once they improve their wireless charging efficiency, no port at all on non-Pro models.People were already using Bluetooth headphones with mobiles that still had the headphone jacks. It was not one or the other… They had both options. Therefore, removing the headphone jack did absolutely nothing to improve the convenience factor cuz it was already there.
Also, I refuse to believe the hardware real estate gained by removing the headphone jack improved anything to do with the audio portion or bluetooth. All they do is keep jacking up the Cameras and screen resolution to cater to the new Tik Tok generation.
Bluetooth isn't too bad either, in the case of the pixel and Sony xm4 headphone combo which supports LDAC, sounds a little bit better, and Tidal also has Audio 360 support for that combo too. Personally I'm never into effects or surrounded for headphones but something to test out. Point is. Bluetooth 5 is capable of transmitting higher res so not too bad.
May get that AliExpress one anyway, no risk or $15. Still prefer the sound on my yuin pk1 buds to the sonys for work, unless everyone is talking then put on the noise cancelling.
Any good ones that also have usb-c passthrough so you can charge your phone and use 3.5mm headphones at the same time?
Can I expect this or a similar ali express amplifier to lower the noise floor when using headphones with my Oppo? I've got some Sennheiser 58x that have a feint hiss when plugged into my phone via usb c adaptor or 3.5mm laptop jack. It makes them not worth using with either and I'm not looking to fork out stupid amounts if this will do the job. I'm not expecting it to perform as well as a more expensive desktop set up, just to remove the hiss for a non-audiophile.
I‘ve been using three of these mobile phone DACs with android and apple devices (not including this specific product). I would tell you if you have no idea what this is for and how it should work, don't buy it. It won't tell the difference. But if you have a decent wired earphone (above apple AirPods) and want better sound entertainment, you can search with 'DAC music' in Google.
I wouldn't mind a cheaper one of these (maybe the AliExpress one), as I plug in some earbuds into my pi pixel via a USB C to 3.5mm adaptor anyway.
Not sure how often you need to charge these devices, if too often is kind of pointless. Also use tidal, wouldn't be many with MQA decoding so assume the quality would still be decent but probably limited to 48kHz (don't start a debate on MQA lol).
