Check your local Bunnings, may not be available everywhere.
$346 for a 7kg vented dryer?? That's a steal.

I think any saving on the up front cost is negated by the lousy 2 star energy rating. Spend the extra and get a cheapish heat pump dryer like the Esatto
Dunno,
Heat pump dryers take ages to dry anything so are on longer and thus the power savings are negligible, if any
Incorrect, they are significantly cheaper to run.
That being said, it'll take longer to dry your laundry – 241 minutes on average for a full load, compared with 167 minutes for vented dryers in our test.
So take much longer to dry but could be cheaper long run. Depends on the model but I stand corrected.
@Homerlovesbeer: Then it's a trade off. Roughly 30% shorter drying time but 300% more to operate. It's your money…
@Ham Dragon: It still works out about 8 years to break even so if you think the appliance will last or you are a heavy dryer user then the heat pump is the go.
If you have solar and produce excess power then the heat pump is probably a waste of money.
@Homerlovesbeer: Good points. We use our (rebadged Esatto) HPD daily, often several times. The other benefit of the HPDs is they don't emit huge quantities of humid air & condense the moisture into a tank or eject it into the drain.
@Ham Dragon: This is the main reason I am looking to move to a HP dryer. The bulk humidity is basically moving from the clothing into the room, with my current dryer.
@Ham Dragon: Would you say the HPD is quieter than a vented dryer?
@aml123: Marginally so. They still have a fan to push the air around inside, which I believe makes most of the noise.
@Homerlovesbeer: 241 minutes on average? I don't think so. My Esatto takes 90mins to dry a load of washing.
@Homerlovesbeer: Which heat pump dryer take 241 minutes to dry? Which vented dryer take 167 minutes to dry? Is the washer spin at 300 rpm on dry circle?
My heat pump dryer take 90 minutes, my 2 old vented dryer take 60 minutes. My washer spin at 1100rpm.
@Homerlovesbeer: "Regular" dryers also cook your clothes. There's a reason heat pump dryers take longer, they don't wreck your clothes by overheating them.
@Astronaut Joe: You have full control of the temp and can set a lower temp to dry by as your wish.
@Homerlovesbeer: turn it down and it won't dry, the reason heat pumps can work at lower temps is the condensor
Heat pumps can't be placed on top of washing machines and are heavier.
If you are only using a machine two times a month then it's not worth it.
My heat pump on my washer with anti vibrate mat.
This is nonsense, heat pumps can be stacked but they can't be wall mounted
Not if it’s for an investment property. And don’t tell people what you think they should do.
Cos energy efficiency isn't important for tenants in investment properties ? What ?
$329 on powerpass if you have access.
How does this sound?
Sounds Fantastic. I have the Akai 6 Head Hi-Fi Dryer model with Nicam digital sound. Might add some Pro Logic speakers to enhance the surround experience of watching my clothes tumble around.
don't know why they got negged, legit question he asked and probably wanted to know if it was noisy? noise could be factor for some i guess. well, i can't answer but hopefully someone can.
I can't comment on the noise levels on this particular model, but tumble dryers in general should not be overly distracting. More importantly though this has a 1700W element according to the specs. The more expensive Electrolux equivalent for example has a 2100W element so will get the job done quicker purely on wattage alone.
Ordered a Solt 4kg compact dryer online Good Guys last week. Got a call 5 minutes after placing the order from a rude rep asking "Do you still want the dryer" …ahhh…yes?
Would cancel and swap it to one of these if there was any stock in WA :(
you should save a further 300 and try to at least get the ESSATO heated pump dryer
im using LG, they are wonderful.
Steal? ALDI was $229 a few weeks back. Kmart has same price but "coming soon".
or get a used one on gumtree for $50.
Aldi not really an option for Tassie :(
Also in Tassie you probably want a heat pump, unless you enjoy having a mould forest.
It's on their website
