I played LIMBO on PS4 when it was free a few years back. It is definitely worth the $3 if you haven't played it before

Inside is an incredible game for $3.

    • +1

      Agree, I quite enjoyed it

Fallout: New Vegas is a really pheonominal game.

Can't wait for Somerville to be released this year.

    • made by playdead?

      • Made by one of the two founders of Playdead. Somerville has a similar vibe to Limbo and Inside.

Can't praise Inside highly enough. Make sure you go for the secret ending!

    • Ok I need to replay it if there’s 2 endings!

I'd look up how to find it, it's pretty complicated

    • Single game (maybe rdr that has made the most impact on me)
      Audio production is excellent

Going to be neg-ed for this but here is my review:

Limbo and are both short games and can be completed within 4 hours. They both have a unique art style and that's the highlight in the game. Limbo with its black and white and inside with phenomenal lighting to set the mood.

That's the only praise I can give it. With limbo, the first 1/3 was really great but then sort of lost its focus on atmosphere and just puzzle platformer.

Both games do not have any text to convey its story and purely through its visual which was what drawn me in to these 2 games as well as previous $3 deal. However, they give you very little (extra emphasis on very little) to work off to create your own narrative which to me felt lazy. That said, there are many that do enjoy it, I just didn't.

From a puzzle platformer POV, it's okay. Some trial and error for some but none that made me felt smart for solving.

I think I entered both games with very high expectations from high praises (on ozbargain) and awards. I played both blind and when i reached the end for both games I was like "that's it???"

Overall, I think it's "art-y" and not for me and I cannot recommend this game.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk

I enjoyed both games, and yet I'm inclined to agree with you, especially "Some trial and error for some but none that made me felt smart for solving" and particularly the case for Inside. Joseph Anderson's video sums up these thoughts well (spoilers).

There will always be people who don't enjoy a particular game style and hopefully you aren't neg'd for outlining your reasons why these games weren't for you and may not be for other people too

    • Particular on switch, the lack of achievements can mean users aren’t playing/finishing the full game. On Inside, I had trouble finding a few collectibles, but the puzzles weren’t hard because you could see where you were going. On Limbo having a 5 deaths or less trophy and a pitch dark level made it challenging for me. But the trial and error part is to be expected in these games

    • +1

Key thing is that for $3 i think its worth it (i have only played Inside, so cant speak for Limbo). I found the puzzles interesting and the atmosphere interesting.

    • Trial and error is a huge part of platformers though. Who hasn't endured that playing games like Megaman or even Abe's Oddysee?

  • +2

If you're the person who hasn't already got both of these, this is an absolute no-brainer at this price.

Great games, Inside the better of the two IMO. The last 20 minutes or so of Inside is one of the most gloriously messed up things I've ever seen or played :D

  • Bought both games 2 months ago for $3.00 each respectivelly.

    1st time - hard
    2nd time - SUPER EASY!!

  • +1

Thanks grabbed Inside as I've already played Limbo which was good

  • In terms of atmosphere and environmental story telling, some of INSIDE reminded my of the depths of Portal 2. Something about huge underground spaces filled with old discontinued structures and machinery. I just love it.

  • +1

    Inside was great
