Is Thaiphoon your software, or is there a way for users to submit data?
Thaiphoon burner reports the ram IC without me de-heatsinking the stick and reading the actual chip.
I think that's being optimistic. CL18 kit expecting Micron E or Samsung B. Not keen to buy it because knowing my luck, I will mostly get Hynix.
Isn't the standard rule that unless it's 3600/16 with 16 subtimings that it's likely to be Hynix not Rev B? 3600/18 Rev B sounds like dreaming.
This specific CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 kit is apparently confirmed Rev. E by a few people (https://i.imgur.com/1QGBKMp.png), unless they revised it. There is another shit bin 3600c18 LPX sku, but I think that was the single rank SKU.

Got mine, Rev. E, 3866c16 @ 1.45, working on tightening subtimings.
Not the cheapest ever based on OZB posts (considering a majority of kits that advertise CL16 end up being CL18 as in the OP), but a decent price in the current day. Good enough for me to pull the plug on. If it's B/E die as the other comment claims then I'll be happy, if not it's still an upgrade from my mystery die 2x8.
Are you comparing to the previous 3200mhz kits? I think this is the first time a 32GB 3600mhz kit has been posted.
So it is. The numbers all blur together.
Link is $172.79? And ships from Amazon US?
Australian stock must have just sold out. It was poiting to Amazon AU when I posted it.
E xpired
LPX is the ultimate IC lottery
Better off with Ripjaws V at the same CL18-22-22-42 for $166 @ Umart
Rubbish subtimings though
Agreed, both Corsair and G.Skill 3600 kits have slack timings. There are no more reasonably priced DDR4 kits like the Ballistix 3600 at CL16-18-18-38 so it is either CL18 or roll the dice and overclock a decent 3200 kit
I got this one few weeks ago - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B083VMSY1B?psc=1&ref=ppx_p… which is apparently CL16-18-18-36. Seems reasonably priced to me.
Edit: I just noticed you typed 3600 nvm.
don't even consider buying CL 16 CL18 it's end of DDR4
Why would I replace my CPU and motherboard to use DDR5 RAM when I could just buy more DDR4, now that it's cheap again?
I used to pay a lot of attention to the timings including tightening them and stability testing etc. but after benchmarking with a Ryzen 9 5900X, I think the improvement in performance is not very significant and we are talking about synthetic benchmarks too; not much difference in gaming FPS at all. Maybe some gains in productivity CPU intensive tasks. While I enjoy the enthusiast side of things in tuning RAM, I suspect you get the majority of the gains from buying good quality CL 16 sticks and choosing the appropriate profile in the BIOs.
C18 for the lose
Savage!
It aint easy bein greasy, son
samsung b die or it's nothing.
Seems to be dual rank Rev. B/E, easy 3600c16 / 3866c16 and much better than the Rev. D / MFR garbage in the other LPX 2x16 deal. Will update thaiphoon when recieved.
