Are you sure you're not confusing them with their bake and seal (more expensive) or whatever they're called?
These have been updated. The seal used to be removable from the lid and what Richard says is true. I have both new and older in same size.
Nope, I'm 100% sure. I have both the old and new ones and the quality of the newer one isn't even close.
Well that sucks. Even the older ones often didn't fully seal. And now we can't properly wash them either?
But they're still better than all plastic versions which starts deteriorating after a while.
@gadget: They are easier to wash now. You can get behind the seal because it is smaller and crap doesnt get stuck in the bit where the seal pushes into the lid. Mine seal ok as the lid gets sucked down if i've had something hot and put it in fridge but i haven't had to liquids in it to see if it will leak.
The lack of locking clips are a deal-breaker for me.
I have both the (older) vent and seal and ones with locking clips. The (old) vent and seal was definitely better. Sealed tight, easier to open and close, no worries the plastic on the locking clips will eventually wear out etc. can't say anything about these apparently newer vent and seal.
Got some of these recently, I didn't have the older style. I've been using them for a variety of things (soup, curry, fresh veg, biscuits, cake). I haven't had any spills, but I'm mostly using them at home so can't speak to how they hold up in transport. They work better than the Sistema plastic containers, so are a step up for me. The worst experience I've had is using one in the microwave, the lid popped off (vent open) and it was so loud I thought the container had cracked.
Use mine for 2 months almost daily. The lid wont seal anymore. Split my food twice when driving omw to work.
PS: These new Decor Vent & Seal (turquoise colour) are poorer quality than the previous Vent & Seal (colour variant). The rubber seal is alot thinner and molded into the plastic lid which results in a weaker seal. The glass is also thinner.
