Winter is the best time to enjoy Guinness, as the optimum temperature to drink it is between 5-7 C. Or so their ads say…

    • +7

That's like at 5am here in QLD. I prefer coffee at that time. But hey, Guinness is good at any time of day.

    • -1

definitely best when it's cold, winter helps slow it from going all warm and yucky.

    • When the Guinness is 5-7c or the environment temperature?

    • Tastes better in Ireland for some reason.

      • +2

Had the worst Guinness I've ever tasted in Ireland!!

In a tiny remote village on the wild Atlantic Coast in Donegal.
The pub was closed late on Sunday night when I arrived. Only place open for a drink was an Italian restaurant. Should have known better & ordered a wine🍷

Tip: Never drink where people don't regularly order the black stuff!

Here's a wonderful humorous book by an Australian author - in search of the best Guinness in Ireland.
Pint-Sized Ireland: In Search of the Perfect Guinness by Evan McHugh

"McHugh's idea of traveling is one continuous pub crawl … an entertaining homage to the black brew." - The Age

It'll make you want to go in search of your own perfect pint." - Adventure Travel

Read it before going to Ireland. It was my travel guide🍺

You can also grab 2 6 packs for 38 + discount code = $26.60 ie $13.30 a 6 pack at least in NSW anyway.

    • +1

      Yep, worked for me.

  • +1

Thanks, grabbed 4. Cash back should work since the code is listed on CR website.

  • +1

Damn that's good. A pint of plain's your only man.

    • 440 mL is not a pint.

      • +4

It's still your only man though!

      • +2

        That's why I'm buying a 6 pack.

  • Doesn't work for me in QLD, I get this error when trying to add to cart "Removed product Guinness Draught Can 440mL in QLD as it is no longer in stock."

    • +2

I am in QLD, it worked for me before. Try another store.

      • Yep thanks, it's working with a different store.

    • +3

How to get hair on your chest and fight blindly.

  • It costs $14 after applying coupon code THIRTY in VIC (checked few stores around Melbourne) - price before coupon is $20.
It is also eligible for cashback at CR since this coupon is listed on their website.

  • Look like no WA stock

    • cottesloe still has stock, didn't check many others

    • Warwick has stock.

    • my bad - I was just getting this notification - "Removed product Guinness Draught Can 440mL in WA as it is no longer in stock." But seems there is WA stock!

  • no stock in NSW?

  • Thanks Op, worked great.

This post begs a question. I have heard that the Guinness gets better the closer you get to Dublin. Is this true? Is the local Guinness we drink different from that in Ireland?

    • +1

Definitely grab a pack and drive up to the North West….it'll taste great when you get there

    • I enjoyed it for the first time in Ireland. But also, the more you drunk, the better it got, for some reason..

  • Very nice deal, cans are great just dont buy the bottle.

    • +1

Lol. I have to disagree. As a man with a genuwine Guiness beanie and a genuwine personalised Guiness pint glass, bottles are closer to the real deal than cans. But this deal is the best I've seen, full stop.

      • yeah my dad says bottles are better

        he doesn't like cans weird

    • +1

Yes, the bottles > cans, don't listen to this guy

  • OOS at Sydney World Square damn

  • Noice, ordered 5x, I tried the 4-pack first but it didn't work, then I tried add 5 x 1 pack of 6, worked!

  • Can't find any Kilkenny in Victoria….weird

  • Promo code not working in wa

You only find that out when after you create and account and try to pay . Complete pain.

    • The promo code you used is no longer valid and has been removed. Please review your cart and retry your transaction*
    • Worked fine for me in WA, you getting the 6 packs?

    • Worked for me, and still validates even now.

  • Vic out of stock online now

  • Ordered 4 by CC at Burwood store. Thanks.

  • went through the payment stage then it says - 'The promo code you used is no longer valid and has been removed. Please review your cart and retry your transaction….' (QLD)

I think the website is that bad when it's out of stock it does that, did that to me for the Kirin

      • Thank you solidussnake. Yeah I can see the website isn't at its best. I tried again this time I paid with Paypal, now its saying was unsuccessful but took the money from my account ( pending). Like you said, I believe it happened due to low stock. Thank you

  • cheers OP, one of my favs.

  • Not "seems like a good price" OP. It IS a good (actually, great) price!
Just click&collected 2 sixpaks, waiting for the SMS. I'm in Perth, stocks seem to be ok here atm.
Thanks again. Ozbargain always comes through even for grog.

  • Drinking my purchase right now. Thanks OP!

For anyone enjoying Kilkenny, I just pricematched athrough livechat Dan Murphy's 2 packs for $26. I would assume you could do the same for Guinness.

  • Anyone know if this can has an expiry date?

    • +1

Already picked some up, mine are 24/12/2022.

    • +1

Guinness? Probably good for a year after "expiry"

  • +2

I added Asahi Beer (pack of 6 can), Guinness Draught (pack of 6 cans), and Kilkenny (pack of 6 cans).

It comes down to $14 / 6 pack. I'm going to look like an alcholic when I pick them up :P LOL

    Thanks OP :)

    • +2

Nice selection - did the same!
First time in years, down to last 6 Asahi Super Dry cans.
Order ready to collect - I'll survive!

  • Thanks for the post
I just collected four packs (Southlands Willetton, WA). It came down to $53.2 so it is 13.3 per pack. Cashrewards confirmed the transaction.

LOVE It but i found it's like , it's heavy, food and so sits in stomach . After 3 pints , I like it 2 much , it gets uncomfortable . Doesn't pass thru stomach to bladder like other beer so bloats . Great to settle hunger tho . One beautiful pint I have found .

    • Yup whenever I have this, it's like a meal replacement😆

  • CR tracked but purchase amount was incorrect!

    Bought $42.70 including GST
    Tracked as $12.09!! 60c cashback
*May not include delivery, taxes, surcharges, GST and other fees.

  • Seems like Liquorland got shitty that you could grab 4 X 6 packs for cheaper than a 24 pack case.

I knew I should've ordered them last night. Devastated.

  • Do these cans have the nitrogen widget to make the beer nice and creamy like a tap poured beer?

    • yes it dose :)

  • Got mine, thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP.

  • +1
