QFF Expired, Anything I Can Do?

My partners points (120,00 of it) expired in June. Anyone in a similar position was able to call up and get them to reinstate temporarily? Long shot but thought I’d ask

If you booked some flights you could give it a go.

I got my status expiry moved by demonstrating I had travel booked

My wife lost over 500,000 points due to nil activity on her QFF account for 18 months. We contacted them and all that was required was that she should earn something like 2000 QFF points in the next 6 months from 2 different sources. She achieved this pretty easily and all the points were reinstated (even though the linked article states that only 50% will be reinstated). This was in February this year.

    • this.

I also had a partner loose points.

We did the status challenge, 50% of points refunded were promised.

The 50% were refunded as promised.

Then magically a few months later the balance were refunded as well. Not sure why.

Your partner does not care email as I know Qantas notifies members when it gets closer to expiry. Better not buy any eGC delivered to email.

I can't guarantee this method works, but to avoid this could you just get a credit card that awards qff points for dollars spent and use it every now and then? Thats what I've had and I never lost points over the covid period.

Don't even need to pay the annual fee for some e.g. Qantas Discovery

      • yeah my anz one has no annual fees either. Definitely options out there

This (and other similar ways) is the smart way to do it. Just trickle points in from a credit card, or some sort of loyalty program (Woolworths, BP, etc., etc.) and Mary's your uncle.

Qantas wellbeing app trickles a few points a day - AFAIK you only need a single point earned in the last 18 months for the expiry of all points to reset.

  • the wellbeing app is the way to go.

    • 5 points for 10k steps in a week or 1430 steps a day.
Plus, 0.4 points for 1000 steps per day challenge, or another 2.8 points per week on top of the weekly challenge.

Or just put in tyre pressure, or brake check, or lights check for another round of bonus points.

I currently have the same issue with velocity points accumulated….hardly use velocity anymore, but have about 225k of VFF points sitting there. Haven found anything like the eQff wellbeing app for VFF

        Velocity eStore for online shopping.

Another easy way is using Bundll Virtual MasterCard, but it seems not taking any new customers.
