anyone has any idea whats the situation with the PS4->PS5 free upgrade (not just specifically this game)? I seem to see different games allows you free upgrade, and some saying not so.
is it depends on sony or depends on publisher?

Looking at God of War Ragnarok, it's about AUD$15 to upgrade a PS4 copy to PS5.
Yep, early on they had said that cross gen games during the PS5 'launch window' would have free upgrades, and mentioned Horizon by name which is why the eventually gave the upgrade for Forbidden West for free.

I was curious about the "ghost of tsushima" title as I previously bought the digital deluxe on ps4 when it first came out, but later it seems I have to pay full price again for a PS5 version…
or perhaps the directors cut has a lot more changes so they wanted more $… a bit like the final fantasy 7 intermission

@slowmo: Yeah, I remember that one being complicated. I refused to upgrade to the PS5 copy for Ghost of Tsushima. I only paid for the Iki expansion, not the Iki expansion + PS5 upgrade.
But it looks like you get PS5 access anyway through PS+ Extra/Deluxe.
Which begs the question, how long will Sony first-party exclusives take to appear on the PS+ Extra/Deluxe libraries. I'm so curious, but will have to wait to find out.
@wutang01: yeah, the recent things around ps4->ps5 upgrades and stemming from the original persona 5/royal .. i've decided not to give companies more money if they decided down the line to just upgrade the original game a bit and demand full price for it without giving existing owners an upgrade path.
this is why i commend the makers of no man's sky for continuing to do what they are doing now… it's impressive imo. I wouldn't mind if they released DLCs, i'll buy them.
