If you expect a good tent for $54 you're going to have a bad time.

Might be worth picking up for the kids to play in the backyard, but extremely unlikely to be a quality tent that holds up over time.

So is there any canvas in this tent? Is canvas ripstop the name for polyester now?

    • The listing says 100% polyester further on down. Shame, would love me a canvas tent. Those things are awesome.

It needs to say cotton canvas. That one surprised me not that long ago. Apparently "canvas" refers to how the fabric is woven. Whilst it's traditionally been cotton (and sometimes hemp) there's nothing to say it can't be synthetic and manufacturers seem to have jumped on that to give the false impression that their product is better quality than it actually is.

Disagree, I hitched round Australia with a little $30 Coleman tent. Was awesome. Had to stake it out more in extreme weather but did it's job of keeping me dry.
Sure I wouldn't take it on an expedition to Dhaulagiri Himal but fine for most Aussie conditions

    • Same, I’ve used cheap ones around Australia and they’ve been fine. More layers on where I would lay down but reasonably fine throughout the years.

    • Agree. Just be a bit more careful with poles and connections and people should be fine. I’ve got a cheap tent that’s probably 25 years old and it still works fine although I don’t use it that often anymore

    • My $12 anko tent works fine for extended hikes lol. Maybe if I was an enthusiast and wanted a more reliable product I'd spend a few hundred but ehh

  • Not sure I would use this at the beach.

I avoid tents without full rainfly.

    • Fully agree! This one's gonna get you wet at some stage. I reckon condensation and rain will be issues.

  • Dimensions would help….

    • 193cm (height), 253x255cm (base) in the description images

  • If you rent it out in your back yard, can you negative gear it ?

    • Got four of them on Airbnb.

Colour scheme reminds me a bit of Goldeneye 64.

    • Facility

      • I’m feeling a bit of the stack.

  • R those were great times and leaking tents !!!! Get out there people . Live .
