Does the upsize only change the coffee?

    • +10

      It's all that can be.
There's no difference in hashbrowns and the rest is the main item.

      • -1

Normally large meal gets you 2 hash browns.

Can this deal be claimed once per day until expiry?

  • +1

Is the deal available all day or just during breakfast hours?

    • +4

      I think it's up to 11am

      • Thanks mate

So it starts at 6am aswell?

    • +1

      until 11am :(

  • +1

Wondering if anyone knows if Jacks app deals ($5 med dbl cheeseburger meal, $5 small whopper cheese jr meal etc) are only available at certain times? Used to be all day and now it seems to appear in the morning then gone the rest of the day on my app?

    • +3

      Hi,
It is either 10,:30am OR 11 am as said above for Brekky stuff..

UPDATE OOPS sorry just re-read maybe are available ALL day then? I just checked seems to be working with the dbl cheese burger & jnr burger deals - added to a pick up 7:40am - did not confirm so unsure if will work to pay stage.

Also if you use the Shake & Win part (up top in app - hard to see). Because if you use during Brekky times you may receive a $4 Bacon Burger or cheaper Hash Brown or a Free(?)/cheaper(,?) Coffee. Burgers/Soft Serves/Chips don't seem to spin up much early in the day.

Note on an Android you need to shake the heck out of your phone side to side dunno iPhone. Also you get 2 shakes & must accept either within 16 seconds - I suggest always go any burger - can get a 2 burger win BBQ Burger & Chicken Royale for $5.

There is a bug in app - it shows your 2nd attempt on screen before doing the sideways slots thing.

Best to go in to claim, make sure you tell cashier it's a Shake & Win & price & item - some barely know which buttons to press to claim it. Also click your claim on phone maybe after showing them. BUT barcode scanner needs your phone as far away as possible, pretty much almost touching the counter,.

      • I just got a free brekky roll. I think that finishes Sunday though. If you roll pre 10:45 breakfast items can appear.

      • +1

On my android phone there is a button to press instead of actually shaking the phone? I never actually shake it lol. But yeah I was asking about Jacks app deals that used to be available all day but seem to be time limited lately (Jacks app deals completely disappear sometimes) they are dbl cheeseburger and whopper jnr cheese meals so shouldnt be brekky only? Was weird.

        • So when i looked this morning the Jacks app deals were there, including the brekky ones and non brekky ones. By this arvo they have all disappeared (including the ones that used to be there all day) wonder if this was intentional or an error

Dodgy ad though, $5 in big print then 'from $5' in small. I'm assuming the 'from' just means a coffee upsize.

    • Unlike Macca's you don't seem to need to buy with something else to get, (also Macca's needs a credit card PayPal is borked,).

They ask if you do want anything else but are happy to give you the single or double cheaper item/s.

Yes app does actually say may have probs, previous day's claim stays on screen for quite a while after clicking the [Χ].

But peeps don't realise Shake & Win exists & is now harder to see in the black above the options.

      • Not sure what your reply has to do with my comment though? I am simply wondering why they needed to be non-committal about the price.

    • What's dodgy about it? The meal shown is $5, the value meal costs $5 or higher depending on coffee size.

How else do you want it presented?

      • -4

Good for you for knowing that's what it means. I'm not a customer, don't know and can only guess. I don't agree with non-committal advertised prices, especially where the non-committal part is smaller print. There's plenty of room on that flyer to explain or put the price of higher value items.
And certainly there's plenty of places where "from" means not at this airport store or not at this franchise store or not on weekends etc.

  • Does HJ do decaf?

    • +1

Half strength coffee is an option, but not decaf

  • +1

At checkout I'm getting $11.60, not $5.00 is the deal over?

    • It's true at 8:30am 1/8/22

    • +2

Looks like something is wrong with the Brekky roll meal. Brekky wraps work fine.

  • Me too

  • +1

Is the difference between the roll and wrap the bread?

    • Yes that seems the main difference, and a big one at that.

  • I have found multiple times that when a deal appears in the HJ app (banner adds etc) that it can take up to a day(ish) to work correctly. I've gone into HJs and been refused a deal before, as nothing had updated their end yet.

  • +1

Had to get the junior whopper $5 deal ,- brekkie ones weren't fully red so un-gettable - went to $23 for 2.

But shake & won a $4 Brekkie Wrap with hash Brown so that's good

NOTE the one I went to is not a 24 hr sort - too far away, so might be why brekkie $5 didn't work?

  • You got to pick a store and choose pickup, than the store menu would become visible, including the breakfast deal.

    • +2

ya but when you checkout it changes back to full price… believe in the bargainers

      it's a bug

  • +3

For the roll, the app goes back to full price. The other meals are still promo price

  • This is the link to the coffee page and T&Cs

  • My local HJ saw the app problem changing the price at the last checkout step, so they put it through instore. It's a bug

    • I ordered the wrap through the App and asked my order could be changed to the roll. The manager said HQ were aware of the glitch but couldn’t put the change through, so your mileage may vary.

  • Do HJ's do all day breakfast?

    • No. Before 11am only.

The breakfast offers will disappear from the app outside of breakfast hours.

  • +1

The Brekky Roll deal was there when I checked earlier but as I was making my way to the store it disappeared. Disappointing and heading back home now, one way to leave a bad taste in a customer's mouth.

    • +3

You can place your order at home before you get in the car

      • There is a song 'If I could turn back time' upvoted, thanks for the info

        • +1

Perhaps your local store ran out of sausage patties or even brioche buns and had to remove it? Still there for me.

Once at the store you either click you're in the drive thru or in the store

          • @brandogs: Yes, just the Roll has gone - others still there but I wanted the Roll :P

I will see again tomorrow if I'm up and around

        • Aqua?

  • This deal is not available at Brisbane Queen Street store.

    • The app updates from the breakfast menu to the regular menu automatically. I assume it does this at 10.45am? Deal is available before 11am daily

  • +3

I tried the new Brekky Roll and it can feed a whole family. It was so oily and packed with calories. It was a packed burger with bacon, egg, cheese, and meat.

  • +1

I just went to get a bacon and egg muffin meal, I must say they do not taste great in my opinion. The muffin was not toasted very much and too soft, bacon not cripsy and whole thing just not too my liking, I know it's just my opinion and sure it's cheaper than Macca's by a little bit but I ened up there straight after and orded a Mighty McMuffin and it was great. I don't mind the burgers at either establishment but I can't bring myself to eat another muffin from HJ's (first world issues)

    • +2

      bacon not cripsy

Since when do Aussie fast food chains serve crispy bacon?

      • +1

Well it was like it was not cooked on a grill, maybe microwaved..not sure to be honest but I know Macca's cook theirs on a grill.

    • +1

muffin was not toasted very much and too soft, bacon not cripsy

Totally agree with you, their bacon and muffin seems like they microwave it to cook it. At least maccas has bacon with something that resembles pan fried and definitely a toasted muffin. On top of that I've noticed their bacon seems extremely thin, thin like prosciutto. But I've only had their bacon a couple of times and because of the experience haven't been back, so can't say if this is the same across all stores or if I've just had a bad experience.

  • My local stopped accepting app pick-up orders for months until yesterday and now the jack's deals offers are gone completely.

  • Do they still do 'angry sauce'? BBQ sauce taste like someone poured sugar on your bacon and eggs…

  • Upgrade it to large meal for $1 extra and you can get a large iced coffee with cream mhm for only another $1 extra.

  • scored a free brekkie burger on the shake and win second go this morning.
added medium fries and it was a $2 banger.

dont live close to a HJ's so was a nice way to rock a cheap morning feed

  • The breakfast roll and wrap isn't working for online orders and keeps saying not available at this time. Went to the counter and ordered manually and all good.

  • I got the brekkie roll. It was a bit under rated. Especially for a premium priced product

    • So, not good? Or, deserves more accolades?

    • Agree, coffee was ok though

      • Not good. The bacon was an off colour. I think they steam it. It wasn't stacked properly. Not sure about the taste of the bbq sauce either. Thumbs down from me

  • any know if you can order multiple products at once for the discount?

    • not for "jacks app deals" counts like a voucher, so one per app order

  • +1

the Jack Brekky burger is still available to shake free in app. have scored a few times now. believe it will go very soon. good time while it still last.

but burger itself is so oily and greasy though. definitely kill you if get one daily lol
