This is normal price. Fantastic product btw.

Once pricehipster comes back up we can see that $59 isn't the normal price. Or at least when I checked earlier.

  • +2

It's been $59 since the last time it was posted on here. It hasn't gone up since then also.

  • +3

According to Ryobi "$59 Price correct as of 23rd October 2021 02:43 AM AEDT" so looks like it's been that price for a while.

    • -3

Oh well. Normal prices are perfectly fine to be posted as deals according to OzBargain staff ;)

  • sorry so is now bedtime to buy it or wait till it drops below 59??

    Why is this a bargain?

  • Whos using it in a grow tent? Confess! Surely it has more than one use.

    • +3

Place a hook in the ceiling and you've got yourself a ceiling fan.

    • To control the humidity? Maybe if you're near the equator? But surely a dehumidifier would be more suitable for this.

  • Can someone explain how this works.. how big a floor it can dry? How fast it will dry?

    • +4

Air gets sucked in to the top vertical vents, and comes out at the bottom most vents along the floor level (360 degrees). Blows quite hard, but air flow is concentrated very low along the ground.

I mop our hard floor areas almost weekly (pets and kids make a mess!), and this does work very well. You place it in the middle of the lounge room (or directly under the dining table for instance), and it does get the floors ready to walk on much quicker.

Has a very specific use though, so if you won't mop or have wet areas (bathroom, laundry etc) you won't really use it.
But for mop users, especially in winter where you don't have much heat/evaporation, this does indeed help dry floors. It gets in done in a few minutes, where it might take 20-30min on a cold day for floors to dry.

      • Is it noisy? And how long does 5ah battery last?

        • +2

Has a quiet mode (2 speeds).

Less than a hairdryer/vacuum even on the loud/fast setting. On the lower setting you could still watch tv in the same room. It's certainly not whisper quiet, because it still does need to move air!

Battery wise I have no idea… but I can use the smallest battery I have (2Ah) and can get the lounge, kitchen, dining, and two hallways dried with power to spare. I reckon with a larger battery it would go all night easy.

  • Anyone would recommend it on drying a small carpet? I normally clean it once per fortnight and love to get it cleaned quicker

    • I forgot to close window in the bedroom during a shower and put this on the wet carpet dried it in at least 30 minutes. Low pile carpet tho - your results may wary.

Great for drying out wet/mopped hard floors however. Best ryobi tool i have haha.

      • Thanks for your input, I also have a 4mx4m low pile carpet so this should be sufficient. Hopefully I can find another use for this thing, maybe cool down the room during summer for my indoor pet.

  • Has anyone seen these used in a commercial or factory setting? I would think they would do well.

    • The fans themselves are very common in the commercial world (Ryobi less so) but the skins are more niche. They're extremely handy for removing wet from difficult to access areas for waterproofing, painting, etc. The 240v fans are heavy so carrying a skin up 20 flights of stairs to dry a bathroom or get it through a roof hatch to fix leaks is far more economical on the knees and spine.
If you want to do a commercial area then best to hire a 240v one from someone like Coates, they are heated with a powerful airflow.
